New Year's Resolutions for 2009...

I have been thinking over the past few days that I need to develop some New Year's Resolutions for the next upcoming year. This is going to be a year of lots of exciting changes, but to keep me grounded and focus I believe it is important to set New Year's Resolutions. I try not to set too many of them or ones that are too difficult to keep, otherwise what is the point. I enjoy posting about my New Year's Resolutions here on my blog because I believe it helps me to stay in check as to whether or not I am meeting those Resolutions.

1.) Scrap to Buy
-- This means that I am not going to buy anything until I have use the supplies that I have. I recongnize that at times I am going to need to buy adhesives or things like that, but for the mean time this is my guiding resolution.

2.) Take Care of Myself
-- This means a number of things to reduce stress. It may mean cooking a good meal, going to the gym downstairs in my building for a quick workout, or playing in my scrapbook room.

3.) Take One Day at a Time
-- It is very easy for me to get carried away with things. So, when lots is happening..I am just going to take a day at a time, and only focus on the things that I can control.

Those are my New Year's Resolutions!

Have a Safe and Happy New Year's Eve!

Ahhh...At Last an Organized and Tidy Scraproom

Phew! I thought that it would never happen. The last two days have been quite an adventure in my scraproom. I decided it was time to give it an overhaul! I didn't want to buy any new storage, so this meant taking everything out of all my storage units and putting it back. At one point I couldn't see the floor. It was pretty crazy! But, the hardwork has definitely paid off as I have a clean room, with a little growing space to boot! You can't go wrong with that. I also have a really good idea of my current inventory, and I am pretty well set for the next little while. Especially since I don't have the same time to scrapbook that I did pre-Master's. To celebrate the clean room, I decided to produce my first Scrapbooking Video. This video debut is a tour of my current clean scrapbooking room. I am hoping that I will be able to leave this like this for some time. Having this video on my blog will be a reminder as to what my room should always look like, even after I have done some creating! Hopefully, this will inspire you to organize your room. And hey, maybe you will get a few organizing ideas yourself!

Thanks for Watching!

Please note that the video has its own audio, so you will need to scroll to the bottom of the blog to pause the music!

I Won a Card Challenge!

Well, I enjoy making cards as all of you know. Well...when I got home today I checked my mail and I received this beautiful little package of goodies from the hostess of the card challenge. I was given the sketch above, and I had to make a card using the sketch...well the card I made was this one that I have posted here in an older post. My card was chosen as the winner and I was sent these wonderful goodies!

Good Bye Sista!

Well, my sister went back to Saskatchewan yesterday to finish off her last 19 days of training. Her visit was very fast... but the good thing is that I know she will be home again very shortly. I will be heading to her graduation ceremony on January 17th. I am looking forward to it...I have heard that it is very specatcular! Just not crazy about how cold that it might be there.

Well, I have been busy in my scraproom working away at organizing. It is an absolute disaster at the moment. I took everything out of all my storage units to sort, get rid of, and organize. I am trying to make it better accessible, so that I put things away better after I use it, but that it is still easily accessed so that I actually use things in my stash. Well, I will see how that all goes.

I made a few creations in my room, as my reward is to make a few little things. Here are some of the projects I completed.

Boxing Day Christmas

Well, I have so many different things to share about the holidays that it I had to spread it over different blog posts because it was too much to put all in one post. (Besides I am not sure everyone would read all what I had to say!) Hee Heee! Well, Christmas Celebrations continued as we all gathered up to take a ferry ride to my aunt Jo-ann's place on the Island. She had it beautifully decorated, and we had a fun time! The Sanderson's just stayed for the day because Julie wanted to be back for visits with friends, and doing the odd errands that needed to be done.

We had a lovely time. My Aunt always goes over the top when preparing a dinner. She cooked a Turkey and Roastbeef, and who could not forget those tasty Yorkshire Puddings. So fluffy! Yummy!

We did manage to get the Turkey Basters to get out and sing...that is always is good for a chuckle. It was a busy travelling day, but it is always special to get together with family over the holidays.

Mountie Christmas to You!

Can you guess what store my sister shopped at this year!

Well, Christmas Day was a lot of fun! The Sanderson Family Christmas was a little different this year due to the fact that my Grandpa was not with us. But, we continued on with some of the same celebrations that we have had in the past! The one difference in the tradition was the fact that the family Christmas Tree is downstairs because the new furniture that Mom and Dad got this year. But, it was cozy downstairs as well. I enjoy looking at the Christmas Tree! Well, the idea this year was that we were cutting down on presents this year, but you would not have known it by all the parcels that were under the tree this year. Wow were there ever a lot. I was spoiled. I received some fantastic scrapbooking goodies including:
Cricut Jukebox
Tinkerbell Cartriage
New Arrival Cartriage
Mikey Font Cartriage
Stretch Your Imagination Cartriage
Joys of the Season
Martha Stewart Glitter Pack
Canucks Jersey
RCMP Sweatshirt
RCMP T-Shirt
Money
Stocking Stuffers

We had a delicious Turkey Dinner that Mom made.! It was a fun Christmas and it was so wonderful to have Julie home for the holidays. That song is certainly true!
There is no place like home for the holidays. I can't wait to have her home for good!

Christmas Eve Celebrations

Well, earlier in the day I thought that I wouldn't make it out to Langley. But, the snow settled down and Andrei was able to pick me up at my Mom and Dad's, and we picked up the parcels that were at my house and we headed into Langley. We had a lovely dinner and Andrei and his family spoiled both of us! I received an OTT-Lite from Andrei. It will be great for scrapping and all those academic papers that I have to read. Andrei loved his digital picture frame. We loaded a whole bunch of pictures on it last night! Well... Merry Christmas to All!

Santa Photo 2008

Photobucket

Well, Andrei and I believe that you are never too old to sit on Santa's Knee! It fact Santa is so strong he could hold both of us on each knee. We got this picture taken at Lougheed Mall today! We arrived in perfect timing right after Santa's Break! So we were second in line. Five minutes after we arrived...there was a line up around Santa's village. This is our third year getting our photo with Santa. It is fun!

Waiting For Julie's Arrival!

Well, I am going to try and not make too many mistakes here with this post. I was going back and looking at many of the mistakes I made in terms of typos and a few spelling mistakes here and there. I seem to be always in a hurry with this, and tonight is no exception. My baby sister comes home tonight. With all this snow, and all the flight delays and cancellations we weren't shure if she was going to make it tonight or not! But, the good news is she is on her way home. Her flight is very delayed. Instead of picking her up at 11:00, it looks like it will be closer to 1:00am. Well, at least she will be here for Christmas right! Yeah! Here are some pics of us all excited waiting for Julie to arrive!

I just checked and her flight has arrived in Calgary! Just waiting for confirmation from Julie via text message!

More Snow and More Projects!

Well, I have played in my scraproom again! The strategy to scrap to clean my desk to some degree is working! I am very excited about it! Before I know it it will be clean. I have completed now the Medium Sized canvas. It is a gift for my future in-laws. I am very happy with the results! The swirl was made with silver embossing, and then I outlined it with Glossy Accents by Ranger. It really makes it shine. The cards were made once again with some Bella Images that I received from one of my friends on the message board I visit. I have turned this into another gift package. Thanks for checking these out!

Passing Time with all This Snow

Well, here in Vancouver the snow is crazy. It hasn't stopped. However, I have been cozy in my apartment all afternoon. I have been enjoying my down time in my scraproom. I have been continuing the scrap to clean strategy that I was using earlier in the fall. It works, but it really causes me to mess up my entire scraproom again. However, I do enjoy posting to show the fruits of my labour. I made these four thank-you cards and a package to go with them. I am having a lot of fun doing this, and I get so much great feedback from them as well that I like to do it. The plastic packaging is recycled from a friend of mine who has been saving them for me from cards she purchased at Costco, so if any others out there would like to save them for me I would greatly appreciate it! There could be a nice set of cards delivered your way as well for your generosity!

Thanks for looking!

Tinkerbell DinsneyWorld Autograph Album

Well, call me crazy, but I made this book for my friend Debbie. Debbie, Lucco, and their step daughter is going to DisneyWorld for the break. They wanted to give an album as a present to show their daughter that they are going to DineyWorld for Christmas. Debbie, was trying to think of a way to make a present of this. In my sillyness I offered to make a "simple" autography album. Well, you know me...nothing is ever simple. This is what I created! I am very happy with the results. If I had more time I might have changed a few things. But, each page with the white square is for the character autograph, and the page beside it...is for the photo of Debbie's stepdaughter with the character. I can't wait to see what it looks like complete!

One Last Day....

Well, I at times I thought tomorrow would never come! It has been quite the run of it this past month. I am looking foward to the two weeks off. I am hoping to sleep in lots! Catch up with family and friends, and I then plan to do a lot of playing here in my scraproom. I haven't posted much scrappy stuff lately. But, I am planning on doing some scrappy projects over the break I have a list of things I want to do.
1.) Disney World Autograph Mini Book for my friends Step Daughter.
2.) Uganda Wordbook for a work collegue. (It was suppose to be her Birthday present, but it just got too too busy.)
3.) Engagement Acrylic Album.
4.) Medium Size Canvas Project for a Christmas Present.
5.) Small Canvas project for a Christmas Presnet.
6.) Complete my Alaska Scrapbook.
7.) Begin Emma's Baby Album. (She will be a teenager at the rate I am working on that album.
8.) Fisish the Exploding Box that I started this summer.
9.) Girly Swap Items.
10.) Advent Calendar project.
11.) Christmas Cards for next year.

Well, by the looks of it, I have a very ambitious holiday ahead of me! But, I will have time to do this when I spend the cozy days in my scraproom. The other thing that I would really like to do is to make some Video Tutorials and post them on You Tube. I enjoy all the ones that I find to watch it would be great to share what I have learned with others.

The other ambitious project i have ahead of me is orgaizing my scraproom and purging things that I don't want anymore. and making sure it is all organized. I might even post a few things on Craigslist to try and get rid of them I think. I need to start "Trimming the Fat" sort of speak to get ready for the "Big Move" sometime this year.

Please check in to see some of the upcoming projects that I will post.

Phew! It is the Weekend!

Well, I thought this time would never come! No coursework, no report cards, and time to just come home and enjoy the season! It has finally come and it couldn't come more sooner. I handed my report cards earlier in the week, and I am just waiting to get them back. I received some fantastic feedback on my final term project from my course. Now, it is the weekend and I am ready to clean the house and decorate. I have been a lttle scrappy through this as well, but I would like to be more scrappy as the week goes by in the evening. I have completed my Christmas Cards, and they will be in the mail this weekend. So, I hope everyone gets them before the holidays. Well, I have quite a bit to do, as I am having Sara, Dave, and the kids over for dinner tomorrow night. So, i better get back to work!

YAHHHHH!

Check Out this Cute Little Box Bag

Saturday, November 29, 2008

Phew...I survived but just barely

Well, thank goodness that it is the weekend. I thought that it was never going to come after the week I had. It all started last Thursday night when Andrei phoned me from the Emergency Room in Langley saying that he had broken his nose. Yikes that was upsetting. I had my major project due on Tuesday, and all I wanted to do was be with him to take care of him. But, I had to get my project completed. The good news is that I was able to complete the project, although I thought that it was never going to happen.

However, in the mean time I have developed a really bad chest cold. I have a really bad cought that has affected my voice. I took time on Tuesday to recover and take Andrei to the hospital. But, one day wasn't enough. But, I had to go back to work to ensure that I was able to collect all the data that I need to do the report cards. I will start them this weekend, and hopefully have them all finished by next weekend.

Andrei had his nose snapped back and to place and is all better now. He has to have a cast on it for 10 days to ensure it heals properly. Otherwise he will have to go back and have it broken and fixed again.

Wednesday was my take the night off from everything. Here are some of the projects I made:
