Mini Paper Bag Album

Summer Holidays are so much fun because you can really make time to do the things that you really enjoy! Today was just one of those occasions! Mom came over today to do some papercrafting. Together we made one Paper Bag Engagment Album for a daughter of one of my Mom and Dad's friends, and two engagment cards. I also got very excited about a project that I saw on the Craft TV weekly site. It is an online TV show dedicated to scrapbooking and papercrafts that you watch on your computer. Well, I became very intrigued by a project that was made out of one paper bag album, since I seem to be on the paper bag album kick right now. I visited it and was inspired to make this little booklet. The best part of the whole booklet was that it used a lot of my paper scraps that I have accumulated from making all the larger paper bag albums and the cards! Very fun and easy to make!

Busy Creating

Well, I have been on the mend for awhile. I have more energy now than I did immediately after the surgery. I had no idea that I would take this long to recover. Since I was told by my doctor to take it easy when it comes to doing physical activity, I decided why not resort to being creative in my scraproom. However, what made this time different than all the others was that I was going to be scrapbooking and creating for a possible profit.

My friend Tara who makes beautiful jewlery offered to sell some of my products that I make at the Art Show she was selling in. The first weekend, I was unable to get any items to her because the projects I was working on took much longer than expected, and my energy couldn't keep up to the work involved. However, this weekend I had some projects to sell. I made four pregnancy paper bag album, one engagment paper bag album, and two large alterned journals, and three altered purse journals.

Well, much to my surprise I sold two purse journals, one paper bag pregnancy album, two large altered journals, and two purse journals. I couldn't believe it! Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of the two large altered journals or the purse journals, but when I make some more I will be sure to post them!

Follow Up Doctor Appointment!

Well, I had my follow up appointment with my doctor today regarding my tonsillectomy. He told me that my tonsils are healing very nicely! He answered all the questions that I had regarding the surgery etc. He was very thorough and I would definitely have no problems recommending him to others. However, the news that surprised me was that he also told me that although I am feeling a lot better that I am still not able to do strenuous exercise for two weeks. I apparently am still at a risk for bleeding, which is kinda scary because I was considering getting back into my running routine now that I have the MP3 player all filled with music upbeat music. So, that has set me back with the whole work out routine.

But, to be honest although I am feeling better my energy levels aren't quite where they need to be yet anyways, still taking a lot of naps!

On The Mend

Day 10- Post Surgery.

Well, I am starting to feel much better after my surgery on the 5th. But, it has been an up and down rollercoaster of healing. I was hoping that by today (before this whole ordeal started), that I would be able to take a Kayaking course with a friend of mine from work. But, unfortunately I had to cancel because my voice doesn't have the stamina and my throat is still very sore! This is definitely the ordeal to have done when you are an adult. But, now that I am starting to feel better and see the light at the end of the tunnel, I will be able to look forward to a great summer with no worries!

Thank-you to all of you for the emails, phone calls that I couldn't return, cards, and good thoughts, as all of these made my healing more bearable!

Tonsillectomy Healing

Well, I have been out of comission lately when it comes to feeling like doing anything. I am now on Day Five of my healing from my tonsil surgery. Let's just say it hasn't been a "walk in the park" or a "piece of cake", just to use a few common sayings. My doctor told me that it was going to be a painful recovery, and let me tell you he was kidding.

When I came out of surgery on Wednesday, I was pleasantly surprised by my pain level. I wasn't feeling great, but I still ahad the drugs in me from the procedure, plus the two Tylenoyl three that the nurse gave me in recovery. It pretty much went downhill from there. For the first two days, I had a fever and fluid in my lungs, as I guess I got that from the anesthetic. This was followed by me being sick. Let me tell you it isn't nice throwing up with a very sore throat. It is all I can do to swallow, as each time it feels like a knife. I have already lost 7 pounds because I cannot eat.

I was pleasantly surprised on Saturday when I was starting to feel better. I ate my first meal, mashed Kraft Dinner! I really thought wow I am tough and I have beat this. But, in my notes from the Doctor, it said that day 4 and five are usually quite painful, after my great day on Satuday I thought naw I am on the mend I will be find. Well, let me tell you... this is not what happened. I have been a textbook case when it comes to the healing process.

Thank goodness I have a prescription mouthwash that numbs the pain, and Tylenol 3 to take when needed. However, for the most part I have only need two extra strength Tylenol.

But, honestly the worst part of all of this is my inability to talk! I do love to talk, and I whisper a little, but I am mostly communicating like I am playing a daily game of charades. I will have to say that my sister is the best at it she gets what I am saying the first time round. Anyways, I miss talking to you all.

My Mom and Dad have been excellent in the good care they have been giving me. I am still staying at home, and proably won't go back to my house until I am eating regular meals. I can't wait till I am back to normal.

Girls Are Like Apples

are like apples
on trees. The best ones
are at the top of the tree.
The boys dont want to reach
for the good ones because they
are afraid of falling and getting hurt.
Instead, they just get the rotten apples-
from the ground that aren't as good,
but easy. So the apples at the top think
something is wrong with them, when in
reality, they're amazing. They just
have to wait for the right boy to
come along, the one who's
brave enough to
climb all
the way
to the top
of the tree.

Yes, I made it! I survived another school year! The year ended very smoothly, and I was overwhelmed by the thoughtful gifts that all my students gave me. But, it didn't take very long for me to get right into the holiday mode. I came home on Friday and had a 3 and a half hour nap. Did that stop me from sleeping that night, not at all. June is a GO GO GO month, and when it is all done I am exhausted. The last few days I was going on pure adrenaline. I have been sleeping a fair amount. But, I have begun the summer activities too!

I hung out with my friend Tara on Friday night. She is such a good listener, and very supportive! We started the evening with a good chat session, and then continued onto seeing the Break Up. It was a funny movie, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was good to have a good laugh at the things people go through with break-ups.

Canada Celebrations downtown at Canada Place with my Best Friend Sara was fun. I had to get my Canada Day Flag and Maple leaf tattoo. We shopped along Robson, and then ended the evening with fireworks at Langley Airport. They were quite good.

I am looking forward to a picnic lunch tomorrow with my friend Jen and her children. Then just around the corner is my surgery. I am having my tonsils on this Wednesday. I am very nervous about this, but I am sure my Mom and Dad will take good care of me as I recover!
