Scraplings! Having fun with my Scraps

I have been cleaning up my room, but it is a very slow process when you end up using your scraps to make projects. I had these adorable scraps that I just could not put into my recycle pile. So, instead I made these scraplings. They were a lot of fun to make. It is fun to use a size like that!

Let's Get Crafty Episode # 25: Cricut Card Box and Cards

New Look

I have been busy that my exam has been submitted. I have been playing with my blog. I have designed a button, and you can feel free to copy it onto your own blog. I have designed a Blog Title. I have beautiful tabs going across the top. I was also able to add a Favicon. The little icon beside the URL at the top of your pagee used to be a blogger icon. But, now it is a litte bird themed like my blog. I couldn't have done it without access to online tutorials, and some of my learning from my cousre! I have wanted to do this revamp for a long time, but just didn't have the time! I am very happy with how it looks, but I just have some more fine tuning of things to do. I want my blog header centred!

The online Cricut Challenges are helping to keep my MoJo going. Here is another card that I made for another challenge featured on MadebyMomo's Blog. It looked fun, so I thought I would play along with her!

Throwback Challenge: # 5: Celebrations Cartridge Birthday Card

I discovered this Cricut Challenge Blog called My Creative Time just recently. It has a fabulous premise! The challenges are throwbacks to your older Cricut cartridges! Which I think is a great way to get using those older cartrdidges that we have, and tend to forget about! The celebrations cartridge was one of the first original cartridges that I purchased. But, I am embarrassed to say that I have not used it as much as I have wanted too or expected too!

However, today I broke that and made two different cards with the cartridge. This card I am linking over to the My Creative time challenge! I had a look through the cartridge book, and came across the party hats. I was drawn to the polka dot one because I remembered having a Stamping Bella stamp that is quite similar to that. Sure enough I did have he stamp, and so I came up with this concept. I am very happy with how it turned out, it is a real girly card!

I just love particpating in the online challenges. They inspire me to get crafty! So, this weeek over at Fantabulous Cricut they have a challenge to make a Christmas Card. Since I am in the spirt of making Christmas cards this month, this was the perfect challenge for me!

My Minds Eye Snowman Pattern Paper (Christmas 2009)
Snowman -Hello Kitty Cartridge

Oma's Birthday Present: Card Box and Set of For Cards

I meant to post this much sooner, as I made this a week ago for my Oma's birthday. She said she didn't want anyone to buy anything for her birthday, but I couldn't let that go by! It was important for me to bring something for her. Besides, I had to disguise the birthday mug for her! I made the box using my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cartridge! I am going to post a tutorial in how I made in the very near future. The video has been made, but I just need to edit the video now! So, stay tuned for that!

Christmas Cards in July Set # 4

Here is another card set I made. The paper is metallic paper, great for a classy christmas card. The snowflake is cut out from accent essentials..

Christmas Cards Set # 3 Snowflake Merry and Bright

I really enjoy using my cuttlebug snowflakes Embossing folder for Chrismtas cards. The snowflake was cut out from my new Accent Essentials cartridge that came with my Pink Cricut Expression. The stamp is a studio g stamp that was stamped onto a shape from my george and basic shapes cartridge.

Christmas Cards in July Set # 2: My Minds Eye Round Cards

I am loving the round cards these days. My Cricut Expression works wonders for this type of card! Perfect cuts every time. Again, the diecuts from this cartridge are from the My Minds Eye Christmas Pack. I have one more set of diecuts to use that came with the card back still to use! I packaged these cards in singles for my craft fair collection because the envelope size is a little more expensive than the A2 size so if I sell these for 2.50, I am not loosing any money.

Christmas Cards in July Set # 1: My Minds Eye

My spare time in the evenings has been spent making Chrsistmas cards. I have a lot of updating to do, as I haven't had time to the posts picts of everything. But, in my attempt to document my 365 projects I am ready to do some posting. These cards were made with a paper pack that I purchased at Precious Memories. The diecuts on these cards were a part of the set. It is a Christmas pattern paper collection from last year. But, I still think it is an adorable collection!

Gloria's Card Sketch July 1st

My friend Gloria at the Canadian Scrap'N" Chat message board has been doing this challenge for quite some time now. Well, I wanted to play a few nights back and give my mind a mental break from the paper writing. So, this is what I was able to come up with! I actually made 12 of these cards as part of an order that I had. This sketch was the perfect one for this challenge! The paper was wonderful to work with as is had a shimmer to it!

Ice Cream Swap

I hosted an Ice Cream swap over at the Canadian Scrap'n Swap Board. The intent of the swap was to make anything releated to an ice cream. It always amazes me the creativity that all the girls have over there. Now, when I received all the items in the mail I thought that I had chosen a colour scheme for the projects since all of them coordinated so well. But, I didn't! Thank goodness because my original item that I made was the red, blue, yellow ice cream cone. So, to have everything coordinate nicely with the other projects, I made another swap item to include with the swap. I was having so much with this theme and the ideas, that I made some other items also! It was a lot of fun!

Here is a peak at my creations and my friends'!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge # 17 Creepy Crawlers w/ Orange:

So, I needed a mind break from the crazyness of writing all these papers for my MEd exam. So, I checked out the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge for this week.
It had my name all over it because I have wanted to use the butterfly cut from the Paisley cartridge, and I have been thinking a lot about creating with orange. I wanted to use as many cricut cuts as I could for this card:
Wild Card Cartridge for Card Base
Accent Essentials for the Swirl
Beyond Birthdays for Merci
Paisley for Butterfly Cuts

Plugging Along

It has been very quiet on the creating front, as my focus these days have been completing my comprehensive exam! I have three papers to write that will show depth and breadth of my own learning during the Master's program. The good news is that have officially completed one paper, and am now beginning the thinking, reviewing, and research process of the second paper! However, today, I am feeling a little wiped. I have been so focussed on the first question that it is hard to get motivated with the second one. However, I have done quite a bit already! Just need to find some research on blogging or discussion forum!

Redley Meets Maverick

Well, we wantd Redley to get adjusted here to the house before he met Maverick. Last night Julie came over to introduce the two doggies! Since, I have no time to make scrappin videos...I took this opportunity to make a quick video of their first meeting. This was my break from working on my MEd comprehensive exam. It is tough working in this heat, but once the three weeks of my exam are over...I will have a chance to relax and really enjoy the summer holidays!

Redley's First Visit to the Park

Andrei and I are becoming more confient dog owners everyday. Yesterday, we decided to take Redley for his first visit to the park. He played with a couple of dogs, and had a really good walk and run. He was pretty tired after his Big Day! We cleaned up his area, and gave him his first bath. So, it was a day of many firsts for him and his owners!

Let' Get Crafty: Disney Mini Album Showcase

Use Your Scraps Challenge

Does your desk area ever look like this after you have been busy creating? Well.. I am proud to say that yes...sometimes my room does not always look like it is in my scrap video because it is being used and enjoyed! That is what crafting is all about! Well, with that in mind...I thought why not challenge myself to make cards with all the scraps and goodies that were on my desk. That way I will be off my desk... and crafty...making a whole bunch of cards while cleaning up my space. Well, that is what I did. I was able to make 11 cards in one evening...Isn't that out of control! I still can't believe I made that many. I will have to say that my favourite out of all the cards is the Geisha Anya with the Cherry Blossoms. This design came to me in the middle of the night when I should have been sleeping, but just didn't have the time to get to do the work. I am happy with the results. I have packaged them up, and have them ready to sell. If you are interested in any please let me know!
