I've Completed another Course!!

I am so excited! I have finally completed another Master's class. I don't know what it is about thse summer courses, but they are a killer! I only now have two more left to go. I am so thankful for that! I had a huge sense of relief after I had finished this course! I had the best nights sleep last night. I am able to relax a little bit now before the wedding.

The best way to do this today was going to get my hair done. It was long overdue...but it is all coloured and trimmed and ready for the big day. I am very happy with how it all turned out. My hair dresser told me I am not aloud to wash it very many times until the wedding. So, we will see if I can do the suggestions she said. I have a few other beauty appointments to take care of and then I am well under way for my appearance. At times, I think Andrei isn't even going to even recognize me!

It is so hot right now that I am making pew bows in the basement of our house. Andrei loves the heat and is painting upstairs, but I am hanging low in the basement.

The Bride That Never Sleeps...

With so much on the brain... I need to take crafting breaks here and there to provide a sanctuary from the busy days I have been experiencing. Last night was no exception when I made these two t-shirts for my Made of Honour and Bridesmaid. I used a technique that uses freezer paper. I have posted the tutorial that I followed to make the T-Shirt. Very easy and fun to do! T-Shirts are on sale this week at Micheals 2 for 6. I hope the girls like them!

Gable Boxes -- Party Favour

I have been busy preparing wedding projects in my beautiful new scraproom. The fist project that I have made is Gable Boxes. It is a party favour for the girls that are coming to the Girls Night In Bachelorette Party that my sister is throwing me tonight. I have been drooling over the Tags Boxes and More Cartriage. However, there are some really great tutorials and templates out there that one can use to make different size projects with just a printer and your computer. Or, just following the directions without the computer. Then I thought I can just use my cricut to embellish everything. The directions for these gable boxes can be found on splitcoaststampers under the resource sections. The only tool change that I made was the fact that the ovals are made with my coluzzle tool rather than a punch. I think it worked just as well, as you can see where you are puting the oval. Check out this link if you would like to try them. Using my score pal with this was a super way to go about making these! There are some trade-offs in terms of not having crisp cut lines, like I would have with the cricut, but I am okay with that because it is the embellisments that bring these containers to life.

I had this stamp for the longest time, as I thought it would get a lot of use for my upcoming wedding. But, I never got around to using it, until now. But, I have used it and that is the main thing. It will get some more use, as I stil know quite a few girls who aren't married yet.

One More Class Left!

Halleluyah! I am so excited that I have one more Master's class left to go. This has been a grueling semester with the research project we are doing. Going out and collecting data and analyzing it ourselves, and then writing up the results has been a difficult task. To top it all off, it has been an added challenge when working in a group of four, which is currently doing the work with three people. But, that always seems to be be the way with group work I think. It ends up never being equitable no matter what you do. One of my many tasks this week was doing the further directions component. I have completed that. But, now I have a power point presentation to prepare that will use when we present the project to the class. I also have a one page reflection to complete, and a peer review. The peer review is the tricky part to do...considering the difficulties with one of my group members. I probably will procrastinate and leave that one to the end.

In terms of wedding projects to do today, I will be heading to the bridal shop with Sara to pick up her Bridesmaid Dress. I am looking forward to seeing the shoes she bought to wear with the dress. I need to go to Micheals to pick up some more Tulle for the pew bows, and I would like to go to the dollar store to pick up a few party favours that I am making. This is just a project to distract me from all the stress that is going on right now! It is wonderful to escape into my scraproom, and do a bit of creating.

Well, I better get back to the powerpoint. Take Care!

Time Keeps Ticking By...

The days keep going by and as of tomorrow it is official three weeks until the wedding. The time is going by so fast really. My two current wedding projects are making the wedding programs and the pew boys. I am very excited with how both of them look. The pew bows are made out of tulle, a hydrangea, and some sparklies. The church programs will be the size of a A2 card and continue with the theme of the wedding invitation and party favour. I know that I haven't posted many pictures of these items. But, it is because I want it to be a surprise on the day of the wedding. But, I will post pictures once the day comes and goes. Maybe it will even inspire someone elses projects.

I continue to work on my course project. It is getting there. I am seeing the light to this course being complete! Thank goodness! Let me tell you I am looking forward to it all being finished with. This has been an intense course with this research project! But, at the same time I have learned lots.

Wedding Centre Piece

So, to have a centre piece or not have a centrepiece that is the question. For the past, six months, I have had an idea of what I want. But, unfortunately I have champagne taste on beer money.

But, I am a girl that loves challenges and I was almost about to give up today, until I went to Dollarama today. I needed to pick up two trellis for the clematis. So, once I had picked up the trellis. I went to the vase aisle... and I was so very surprised when I saw the style of vase that I was looking for! They had it, and it was within budget. So, I was able to track down the rest of supplies that I needed to make them at other stores, and low and behold I came up with something I am very happy with.

I know that people would have said how pretty it is without them. But, now these centre pieces will add my personal touch! I don't want to post pictures here of the items because I want it to be a surprise for the guests the day of the wedding. But, here are my inspiration pictures to give you a flavour of the overall design!

ONE Month To Go!

I woke up this morning with butterflies in my stomach, as I realized that today there is one month to go until the wedding. I just can't believe how close it is to happening. We hae been working on the pew bows concpet. The tuxedos have been chosen. The boys are going to look very good in their tuxes.

This mornings project of the day was getting the Father of the Bride all dressed in his suit. He needed his daughter's approval of the one that he picked out. He looked great. Then we picked the shirt, the tie, and we even convinced him to purchase a modern pair of shoes. He didn't go down with out a push with the shoes. But, he is going to look fantastic!

Then I had to try my dress and shoes on to make sure everything is fitting properly! It did! Julie did her dress fitting!

Then my friends Karen and Frances met for a lovley Greek dinner! It was a celebration of me getting married. As due to the timing of the wedding. They are unable to make it. But it was a fun evening! Good conversation, food, and company! It was a great day!

Happy Canada Day!

It was a very lovely Canada here in our new house. We actually took some of the day off from house repair jobs. We went and sway my friends new baby at Riyal Columbia. Then we went to the mall to do a little shopping and pick up a few things. We bought a Canada Flag to fly at the house. It looked great in the front yard. It is great because we were even able to use one of our long painting tools that will work great for the pole in the future. It extends and everything. We set up our patio furniture in the back yard. We went up to Castle Park (less than a 5 minue walk) for fireworks. They were really good surprisingly.

We came back and Andrei did some painting in the kitchen. The cabinet trim, and boy does that look really good. This house is really going to look like a different house when we are done with it. Little by little it is becoming more and more our space and our home. He worked on them until 3 am. I was long in bed after that.

We continue to work on different projects. The Entrance way is just about done. One more coat to do. We will be replacing the garage door opener, as that broke the second day I used it. So, that will be nice to park inside very soon. My scraproom is coming together, and I can't wait to produce a second video of it. By far, this room is going to be my dream scraproom!
