41 weeks + 1 Day

That's right...l am still pregnant. If nothing happens today, I am going to be induced tomorrow. Baby and I are both quite uncomfortable now I think! I have terrible bruising and stretch marks around my belly button for the baby stretching out. It has been painful. I wake up every time I need to roll over. Getting out of the bed and chairs is challenging, or simply going to pick up something like dishes out of the bottom rack of the dish washer. However, Andrei is a true blessing as he has really stepped up and helped!

We put the final touches on the baby's room, so I thought I would post them here. The theme of the bedroom is owls. But, Andrei wanted to incorporate bulldogs as well! The baby change table is
vintage. It was made by my father 35 years ago for me. My sister was also changed on it too! We added the baskets and the top change pillow to help keep baby safe from rolling. The rocking chair is from my Grandma she didn't want it any more and so she gave it to us. The chest of drawers and the night table was my furniture from when I was 9 years old. I got my own bedroom set. The Owl lamp was a gift from my sister. The owl piggy bank was a gift from my Mom and Dad. The crib and bedding we bought new. The wall decal was purchased from Amazon.

We areas ready as we can be for our first born. Now just waiting for the little one to cooperate.

40 weeks + 5 Days

Well, I am not eating ice cream, but I am puking. I am doing a lot of sitting because I am just too uncomfortable to do anything else. Thank goodness for you tube and reading to pass the time. A few false contractions but then nothing. There are only two guesses left on my baby pool. Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th.  So, I guess there is a slight possibility that no one is correct.

Sneak Peek of Maternity Photoshoot

Due to my medical history with pregnancy, I didn't really take  many  documenting my growing bump. As seen with a previous post, most of them were taken with my iPhone. I have a 3GS which doesn't have a very good quality camera like the new models of iPhone that are five years newer. However, I did want to have some pictures to capture this significant moment and memory in my life. My days of growing to be a Mommy. We went to Lifestyle Photography in Langley. Charlie did an amazing job with the photos, as well as making Andrei and I feel comfortable in front of he camera. She has a beautiful backyard for photos and great studio. Once bump is born we will be returning for the Newborn Baby shoot.

My Due Date Today...Still waiting

So, I am still waiting for this baby's arrival. I have been not feeling myself since yesterday morning, and having very subtle contractions. They intensified last night, and then they dwindled very early this morning. They have been occurring on and off today. It is hard to eat because my body rejects food, and I am drinking lots of water so I am not dehydrated.  I just had a nap, so I feel less tired. But, still have contractions both around my tummy and back. We will see if this progresses. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow, so if anything I will know more about this baby's arrival.

Sister's Bachelorette Party

I made it to my sisters's Bachelorette Party. I didn't think I was going to make it! But, the party has been cleaned up and it was a major success! We went with a baseball theme. The girls started at the batting cages, and then came to my house for appies and beverages. We played two games. One was an underwear guessing game and the other one was how well do you know Markus.

Lots of laughs and yummy snacks! Redley was such a flirt! He had fun spending time with us girls!

Homemade Graphic T-Shirt

So, my sister is getting married in September. This Saturday her bridal party is throwing a bachelorette party! That is if I don't go into labour before then. My part of throwing this party is having an appetizer and beverage party in our backyard. My sister went all out with the party that she hosted for me, and despite being less than a week from my due date, I wanted to return the gesture. We are going with a baseball theme. Batting cage, themed backyard party, Canadian Baseball game, and then a night out at pub. We are also having the bride an we bridal party dress up.

I really wanted to get shirts for her. However, they are ridiculously expensive! At least 30.00 a shirt and that is only for one printed side. Not worth it being that it is something that we are only going to wear once! So, the DIY girl that I am I came up with a plan to make the shirts myself! This is what I came up with!

I bought the tank tops for 8.00 each. I already had the paint on hand! I used acrylic paint and the acrylic paint textile medium. I designed the text with my gypsy an used he cricut to cut out the template with contact paper that I bought  at the dollar store. I followed the mixture as outlined on the textile medium bottle. I used a foam brush to apply the paint.

A great effect, that in my opinion does not look homemade. And a 22.00 savings per shirt! This saved me 88.00. (not that I would have ever paid that for the other shirts)

I am looking forward to getting a picture of all of us in them!!

Some Scrappy Time

I have been enjoying my craft space. I embarked yesterday on the project life baby book journey. My plans are to do traditional 12x12 scrapbook layouts in conjunction with project life pages. The PL pocket pages are a great way to do some creating and journaling and then adding the pictures later if necessary. A way to capture baby's first year impromptu with a few minutes without forgetting the memory!  I started the book with a traditional scrapbook layout and then a second scrapbook layout on the back of the page and then dived right into project life pocket pages.

When I look at all the tools, supplies, and stamps that I have to play with, I feel like project life is a style that I have been gearing up to since I bought all my Scrapbooking supplies. I have a lot if stuff that works with this style. So, it was fun to play and try something new without investing in a brand new hobby of supplies. I don't have an album yet to put these pages into because I was waiting to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. Although, I was also leaning to a yellow album.

I am staying close to home these days, but I am hoping to convince my husband when he gets up from sleeping off his night shift to go to Michaels with me. I want to buy a picture frame for the baby room scrapbook layout I designed and look one more time at the scrapbook albums to see what is available as I will have to send my hubby to pick it up and that could be a bit of a challenge!

More Nesting Activities

I haven't had my burst of energy to clean and clean and clean! But, I do have this instinct to take on organization projects that I have been meaning to do for quite awhile!

These two drawers are from my kitchen. I took everything out of them. Cleaned them out, and then put shelf liner down inside of the drawers. I purchased the shelf liner at Dollar tree. One roll for 1.25. Excellent deal and better than that sticky stuff I used four years ago when we moved into the house! It prevents stuff from sliding around in the drawer, which is particularly of use in the Tupperware or plastic storage drawer! Everything is staying stacked and organized in there and it feels great to be organized. Hopefully it is something that we can maintain even after baby comes.

I am currently looking for a solution for my utensil drawer. It is very deep and very difficult to keep utensils organized. Been looking on Pinterest. But, haven't found anything yet! Stay tuned!

Yes...I figured out the Ipad 3 Camera Connection Problem

So, I have been determined to figure out why all of a sudden I couldn't use my Camera connection Kit with my Ipad. I thought last night that it had something to do with my SD card. But, that was not the case.

Here are the details in case anyone else has these problems.

Issue # 1
Files must be in a folder called DCIM (upper case) to be read by the IPAD 3.

Issue # 2
File must be named 8 characters long. If larger they are not recognized.

So excited! I am off to create my second video

My swollen Pregnant Feet

Well this is a new pregnancy development! I have been crafting with my sister today since 11:00am working on the party favour thank-you gifts. I looked down and noticed my feet...they are all swollen basically from my ankle downwards! Since I have discovered this...I have been keeping my feet up!

Let's Get Crafty: Girl's Night Mini Album

Finally!

I have been able to upload this video to Youtube! I have been meaning to do this for at least two weeks, but it didn't go as I planned. Unfortunately, my Windows Movie Maker isn't working. I did a lot of research and wasn't able to get it to work. First, when I tried to open the program it said that I didn't have proper system requirements, which was completely untrue. Second, I downloaded a different version, but then I wasn't able to import my flip video into that version as the file type wasn't supported. Then I tried all different free versions, but they aren't really free, as they are designed to encourage you to try it out and then pay if you like the parts of their version. I am  adamantly opposed to paying for something that worked properly with my computer and now has conflicts due to a Windows 7 upgrade.  ,But, I have been determined to return to my crafty videos. I researched software programs, but all the good ones were 100.00 or more. However, with baby on the way...this was not an option. So, then  I decided to try the Ipad route.  I also tried to upload just the raw video from my PC and it was going to be an all day task. I was willing to do this, but then my PC went into sleep mode and crashed the upload.

We already have an Ipad Camera connection kit. So, I tried putting the videos on directly onto my Ipad from my Flip camcorder. But, that took too much memory. So, then I thought that I could put the video onto my camera SD card and use the SD card attachment. Well, sure enough it worked. I did have to download the IMovie app for 4.99.But, that was more in my price range. Used a little fun money and a little investment for a technology challenge. Well, I got the video onto my ipad, and quickly was able to edit the footage and upload in less than twenty minutes. A substantial reduction in the time commitment with using my Ipad versus using a PC which was very exciting. So, you can see I have a completed youtube upload. The only downside is that I doesn't have that catchy tune that I normally use, or the video artwork that I spent hours designing and creating. However, my

However, my goal is to share more of my projects online. I have come up with a bit of a glitch, as I attempted to try my second video. But, I will figure out a solution! I am determined!

I can tell that I am a little rusty with talking and explaining, but the more I get back into sharing crafty videos the better fluency I will have with explaining my projects.

Thanks for joining me and reading my big long vent!

Wedding Invitation

My sister is getting married in September. My sister has very high end taste when it comes to wedding ideas. But, she knows that she has a DIY sister who is often able to take an idea that she has and turn it into the real thing. Well, this is what happened with these wedding invitations. She saw this pocket style wedding invitation at the wedding fair in January. She described it to me, and explained that for all the stationary and invitations it worked out to 7.00 per invitation. So....not in her budget. This is where I had to out my thinking cap on and do a little research online, as I am sure I am not the only one who has wanted to make this style. I found the information that I needed. However, I had to tweak the measurements to the brand of paper we were using! It was a little frustrating because when you are using different brands of paper they aren't always a true 12 x 12 on both edges. So, in the assembly line we had to tweak the cards! That was no fun? However we made 85 of these invitations! In different stages. We even got our Dad involved when he stuff the invitations. DIY is great as these invitations cost us only 1.85 per invitation. But, the time was a huge factor! But, she got the expensive look she wanted and my sister was very happy for the invitations.

Family Outing

We haven't seen my husband's in three years. Last time we saw them was in Calgary when our sister in law  was 7 months pregnant. This trip was the first time we met our nephew! He is an outgoing little boy who has really taken a keen interest to his Uncle. I think it helped that Uncle Andrei gave him a soccer ball 10 minutes after arriving!
