All That Scraps A.T.S Challenge

So, I squeezed in a project tonight as I wasn't going to craft! I looked up the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge Blog, and they have an I retesting challenge on. We were to create a card with a product from their acronym. The A is for Aqua, the T is for Twine, and the S is for sparkle. I used Gloria's April 15th card sketch to come up with the design. This is what I came up with I love the color! The digi stamp is from the All That Scraps store. I believe she is Kiki Flowers. Thanks for stopping by!

Fabulous Fiskar Fixes Mistake

I was very excited and impressed when I went to Puralator to pick up a package. It was my Fiskar trimmer replacement. My paper trimmer was replaced with a brand new one. You gotta love a company that stands behind their product! They really listened to my concerns as they sent me a trimmer that works with the spare blades that I have purchased ahead of time!

Greeting Farm Happy Birthday Anya with Cupcake

So, I have been reviewing all the wonderful tools. embellishments, stamps, and papers that I have to create with and have been weening out what I don't want or use. I do this quite often. But, this time I did something a little different. I decided to sell items on craigslist including a carry tote, bind it all with wires, and rollagraph stamps. I also sold my wedding candleabra and wedding pew bows. (The wedding stuff wasn't in my scraproom, but also were items that I had available for sale. Those items were then used as free money to buy other scrappy items. I also sold quite a few cards at work, and came home with a much lighter basket. I learned that the price list system I had didn't work. I just need to price each item separately with a little tag. I will do that next time.

Through the cleaning process of my room...I stumbled across a pile of pattterned papers. These 6x6 patterned papers came from a swap that I did with my friend Lisa G. We occasionally encourage each other to do a swap. But, we swap out items from our stash rather than going out and buying something for our friend to play. It has been a lot of fun because you use up your own stash, as well as get some new goodies to play with. These patterned papers were so bright and cheerful, and right up my current colour pallet that I seem to be working with right now. I made this card with the Studio G card and envelope sets in the 1.50 section at Micheals. They are so much fun to play with, and use as a base to build up from. The image is a digtal image from Greeting Farm. I just love the colour of this card so cheerful. The banner at the bottom was cut with my Gypsy from the Create a Critter cartridge. There is a banner on this cartridge. I welded two of them together and then stretched out the length and narrowed the width to get this design. Can't wait to give this card to someone special.

Sweet Pea Baby Bella Baby Girl Card

This week was an exciting week for two of my pregnant girlfriends. My friend Debbie went into labour at work, and had her baby 4.5 hours later on Wednesday April 18th, 2012. My other friend Julia had her baby early Friday April 20th. Another two girls to add to the growing families of my dear friends. Although, I am very excited for them both...my heart pinged a little because I was hoping to be along side them this year with my first. But, things don't always as planned. Besides when it is my turn, I am going to have a big group of experiences Moms!

I made this card for my friend Debbie. She has a son already and now her second born is a little girl. And when I say little I mean little..she was born 4.4 pounds. So, I thought the little stamping bella pea pod stamp was a perfect image for her card. I haven't been able to see Debbie and baby in hospital yet. But, do plan on seeing them when they are safely home from the hospital. I have another homemade creation in the works for them both! But, can't post yet, as I have finishing touches to do!

Tim Holtz Dressform Tag: Tea Party

If you are a follower of my blog who reads my posts regularly you will know that I am totally loving the colour yellow lately! So bright and cheery. I am also having a lot of fun with dressforms. I hosted a swap last month and really enjoyed what I created, as well as seeing what others created. However, I have since realized that I should have really invested in the Tim Holtz Dressform Die. It is so fun to play with and alter because it can be used to cut out chipbard rather than paper like I did with the dressform die on the Nifty Fifties cartridge.

My friend Gloria who hosts the fabulous once a month crops let me borrow her two dressforms the larger and the small size. So, I decided to cut out a whole bunch this weekend out of chipboard. It was a lot of fun to do. I wanted to play and make some, but then I needed a theme. The stars aligned when my friend Lisa G said that she needed to make some more dressform tags for a special project she is workin on right now. I asked her if she would like me to maker her one. She was thrilled, and asked if could be a kitchen themed one. So, I decided to go with a tea theme, and Lisa's request was that the dressform wore an Apron. So, I immediately went to my new Cricut cartridge Love You a Latte and made this cute little tag! Just love it. The patterned paper was rescued from Gloria's purge a couple of weeks ago, and the green Tulle I purchased at Micheals last week for decoration with the card boxes that I like to make. The table, stools, and tea pot are from the Love You A Latte Cartridge. the cup is from the Joys of the Season cartidge.

I have so many nice things to play with in my room. It is wonderful to be really having an opportunity to enjoy them!

Lisa's April Sketch Challenge

If you are a loyal follower of my blog, you will have seen that since this past October I have been slowly completing scrapbook pages for my Honeymoon Album. Although I have seem to have taken a month hiatus from any scrapbook related projects. This album began when Lisa began hosting a monthly challenge at the Canadian Scrap N Swap Board. This challenge encourages us to use the posted sketch for the month into any themed layout of our choice. This month Lisa chose Sketch # 19 from the Sketch Support Blog. I was a little concerned when I saw that it was a one page sketch because I have been using these sketches for my honeymoon album, which has all been accounted for double page layouts. Yes, I know my honeymoon was three years ago this coming August, but creativity and art takes time, and I like dabbling with all sorts of creations. So, I decided to challenge myself to turn this one page layout into a double layout, and I feel pretty successful with this project. This sketch design is perfect for the scrapbooker who is nearing the end of a themed album because of the collection of patterned paper strips that gave saved projects just as this! It was a lot of fun to make, and best of all this layout was made with all items from my stash. Nothing new was purchased to complete this layout. The only change I made to the layout was that I made the photograph a 7 x 5 photograph instead of a 6 x 4.

Gloria's April Sketch Challenge

My husband asked me to make four thankyou cards for him and his colleagues once again! I was delighted! But of course he needs them tomorrow morning! Lol! So, I whipped these up. The patterned paper is from a recollections paper pack! The banners are scrap paper from my stash. The owl stamp is from my stash and never been used. The scallop stamp is a new Hampton art stamp set. Going to get lots of use with those as it cuts out perfectly with my scallop nestabilities. The top note was cut out with my cricut and the twine is new to my stash and the bling is from my stash. Had lots of fun with this. The Owl was used to symbolize wise knowledge, as these cards are going to be given n to all the mentors and the instructor of my husbands ccu program!

All That Scraps Anything Goes Challenge

I had a chance to putter in my scrap studio tonight! It was a nice way to relax after a very busy and relaxing day!

So, I was perusing around in my scraproom looking at all the goodies I had left from different projects! So I thought I would create a card with all the stuff as I clean up my space! This card features two stamps from the All That Scraps Online Store. Kiki Flowers and the sentiment is from magical wishes! There is such good value in Amy R stamps! So much variety and so much fun!! Love them and I am putting some more onto my birthday list! Just over a month away! I am happy with the results!!

Canadian Scrap 3x3 Card Swap with Cricut and Greeting Farm

I am currently hosting a 3 x3 Card Swap over at the Canadian Scrap and Swap message Board. I love making these little 3x3 cards. I wanted to have a theme for my cards. I did this last time and felt that the presentation of the cards to the other members of the swap is fancier. This particular theme was first inspired with the colour theme. I knew that I wanted to use yellow. I am loving this cheery colour and can't seem to make enough projects with this colour! The patterned paper is from the DCWV Lemon Grass paper pack. Such an elegant collection of papers. The first card is using my new Cricut Cartridge Love You A Latte. Just loving that cartridge. Expect many new projects to follow! The next card features the darling little digtal Classy Anya Digital stamp. I knew I wanted to use her as soon as I set up the theme. The final card uses a Cricut cut from the Joys of the Season Cartridge. The stir stick is actually a stick pin. These pins were purchased at my local dollar store. They sure are a heck of a lot cheaper than the ones you buy at scrapbooking stores. Still want to play with these and make some of my own projects, but just haven't been able to get around to that yet.

I am entering the middle card. Classy Anya with a Tea Cup into the Greeting Farm Classic Challenge.

Sweet New Baby Cards

In an effort to make a variety of cards to sell in the basket at work. I created 3 each of the same designs. These cards were inspired by another blogger. But, I can't remember who...I found her through the Bitten By the Bug Blog. I loved the Graphically Speaking boy and girl cut. The original card was for the Boy card. But, I thought I could do the same with the girl theme. I am all covered now for the two friends that are expecting babies in the next couple of months. I am very excited that I made thesee cards completely with paper frommy stash. Nothing new was purchased for these cards!

Stamping Bella Bridal Shower Cards

I made a decision that I was going to make a variety of cards, and take in a basket to work and try to sell some cards. I am calling it my Spring Card Sale. Since this time of year is leading up to Bridal Shower and Wedding Season. I decided to make a few cards to fit with that theme. These two cards are made with newly acquired patterned paper. The purple tone came from a Basic Grey Kioshi Patterned paper collection. My friend Lisa G absolutely loves 6x6 paper pads. She has got me hooked on the darn things als0! Lol! However, they are fabulous for card making because of the small print and the size of the paper. It feels easier to cut into a smaller new piece of paper for cards than a big fresh sheet. The yellow themed card was made with the DCWV Lemon Grass paper. Oh do I love those soft yellows! So, much fun to work with! This stamp I have had for quite awhile as I purchased it to make my own Bridal Shower thankyou cards. She is so fun to colour and love the stickles on the dress. The butterflies were cut out with the Martha Stewart butterfly punch

Rain or Shine Retro Fresh Challenge

I am thoroughly enjoying the card making craze that I am on right now! I made this card while crafting with my friend Lisa this past weekend. We always have so much fun when we get together. I wanted us to have some scrappy goals, so on Friday night I went on the search for challenges. I found this challenge over at The Greeting Farm Blog. The challenge is actually called APRIL SHOWERS and MORE. This is  *ALL WEATHER* Challenge. They just want to see a "Weather" theme and a stamp that's 6 months old or more to qualify as "retro-fresh!" I instantly knew what set I wanted to use! I was very excited to pull it out! Sadly though this stamp from the stamp set had not been used yet. However, Lisa took the protective cover off and we began to play with all thes stamps for the stamp set. So, although this is a retro stamp over at the Greeting Farm...it is actually a brand new stamp used for me.

The sketch is from the Mojo Monday Challenge Blog. However, I didn't get the card posted quick enough to participate in their challenge! But, you can find the sketch here.

The patterned paper for this card is from the Die Cuts with a View Citrus Stack! I love the bright colours in that stack. The diecut behind the stamped image is a nestabilities. It is a set my friend Lisa G owns. The sentiment stamp is a Studio G Stamp. I sure do love those little stamps! This was a very fun card and look forward to giving it to someone very special!

Gloria's Trash Scraps and My Treasure Projects

Okay...I am so slow with posting these! But, thought I would share these projects that I made last weekend. Last weekend I went and visited my friend Gloria. I borrowed her two dressform dies. I absoulutely love them! I plan on making some more of these types of cards. But, so far I have only made three of these cards. These projects were all created with paper Gloria was going to put into her recycling bin. She said it was paper that she was tired of working with and didn't have the desire to play with anymore because she had become tired of the projects! I instantly fell in love with the colour combo. So, I took these beautiful papers home and turned them into some projects! I love how they all turned out!!

Easter Weekend Festivities

So...with a bug long weekend you always expect lots of things to do!! And this weekend is no exception!! We went out on Thursday Night to see My husband's parent's place. We visited the cute little puppies!

Friday I took a trip to the two scrapbook stores out in Langley. Wow...was that fun! I finally have some twine to play in my collection! I have all sorts of ideas what to create with it!! I visited my friend Gloria, and completely lost track of time chit chatting! I borrowed her dressform dies...so I am looking forward to some scrappy projects with those.

Saturday was a very exciting day of egg decorating! I know some people will say that it is for kids, but although that could be true! It is a great excuse for us family to get together and chuckle! We had pizza with my Mom and Dad who have since returned from Arizona! It is sure good to have them home again!

Sunday was a lunch out at my Oma's. The big bunch of us get together for laughs and memories. My Oma's care nanny has her own room and bathroom. There was chit chat to have a sign on her two rooms that say private. So, I made those up when I got home and then dropped them off on my way to Langley! Didn't make it to Micheals like I was hoping to get some craft cardstock, but I might get there yet before the weekend is out!
