Create a Critter Cupcake Card

I wanted to use some scraps of paper from my previous cupcake cards with the Sketch from Sketch Support. So, I decided to make just a basic A2 size card. The base of the card is made with a light beige cardstock. I used the mini monograms scallop with lime green cardstock. I embellished it with the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug folder, and then I used the swirl on the cupcake. I used studio g glitter glue on the cherry. I am very happy with the results!

Cricut and Cookies

This weekend I did cricuting of a different kind! I made decorated cookies with my sister. She received a Cricut Cake Mini for Christmas. She wanted me to help her get started with the machine. So, we thought we would make Valentine cookies. We had a whole bunch of fun! I shot a whole bunch of video of our fun, and thought I would turn it into a video. But, need to do some editing and talking, as we didn't do anything formal. We used the Cricut Holiday Cakes Cartridge and the Sweet Hearts cartridge. Those seemed to work very well.

We had a lot of fun, and the fondant we used worked great! I will have all the details in an upcoming Let's Get Crafty Video Series!

Let's Get Crafty Episode # 64: Wedding Wednesday Layout: Something New Something Old Something Borrowed Something Blue

I continue to use the weekends to work on my Wedding Album! I am very excited that I have started, and I am finding it not that hard to complete. I try to do at least one layout a week. That is a good pace, and I believe at that rate it seems manageable. However, last weekend I was able to do two double page layouts! I completed videos of them for my Wedding Wednesday Series, so you will see those in the next couple of weeks! I am just loving the sketches from Sketch Support. I am finding them so motivating! I like them so much that I wanted access to more, so I ordered the sketch support books. I ordered 5, 6, 7. I guess you could say that I broke my shopping ban because I bought something. But, I dont' consider it breaking the rules too bad because I bought these to help me use my supplies rather than buying more supplies! (I know you can justify anything any way you want. I have been looking through all of the sketches today, and I am in the process of planning my next layout! I think I might even start my Honeymoon album at the same time. It will be a great alternative to the wedding album!

Mary at Cardz TV is a favulous paper crafter who does all wonderful sorts of projects. She manages three blogs, and still has time to do do fabulous videos and create super projects. Well, this week she has a cupcake challenge on. I have been really wanting to use the cupcake from the create a critter cartridge. The cupcake is so adorable. It has a face on the cut, but, with my gypsy I removed the face. I give you all the messurements and details in my video. I had such fun making the pink card. That I made three other versions of the card using hte same sketch! I turned it into a gift pack that I could give to someone special in the future.

Let's Get Crafty: Wedding Wednesday Layout Series: Title Page

I have not been keeping up to date with my youtube videos and my blog, and I appologixe for that. But, this past week was a more difficult week with maintaining balance because I didn't do any creating on the gypsy or with my files in my scraproom. However, I was able to get this video uploaded, and I am progressing on this album. I have recorderd to videos today and completed four more pages for my album. I think I am going to get a counter from the Ticker Factory to keep track of the wedding album pages I have completed to date. In this video, I show you how I got all organized with all my materials!

Scrap Paper Card

I had a little scrap paper left over that I just couldn't throw away, so I made this card that could be used for lots of different occasions. I decided not to put a sentiment on it, and I would leave it blank, so that I could use it in the future for a last minute card!

Let's Get Crafty Episode # 59 Sketch Support Card # 1

Since I am on a mission to use the supplies that are in my stash. I am visiting challenge blogs to get inspire to make my creations. For this card, I visited Sketch Support by Ali Davis to get inspired for this card. She just recently launched this blog where she shares some of her great sketches. I am so hooked. Lisa at the Candian Swap and Chat Message boards has been doing some fabulous layouts using her sketches for 12 x 12 layouts that I thought I would give it a try for a card. They are so nicely explained and layouted out. But, as you will notice my card looks completely different from the sketch!

Le'ts Get Crafty # Episode 61 You're Tea-riffic

This card was made with coordinating paper from the DCWV The Latte Stack. I love purple and green, and love how these papers coordinate so well to make a card. I made four of these cards. It is amazing how for 4 sheets of 8x8 paper goes when make cards. I love how the smaller packs work so much better for cards. If I buy any packs...which I won't because I am on a shopping ban! LOL! I think I would like to use the card mat stacks!

I Love You Valentine

This is another card that I made with the rest of the 6x6 Bo Bunny sheet. I used my Martha Stewart Border bunch and some more swap items to deocrate the card. I guess the pink makes it quite girlie! I am going to have to figure out a way to make a more Masculine looking card for my husband! I still have some time!

Jet'aime Card

Getting into the Valentines mood with projects! I was looking through my box where I keep my swap items and found this cute embellishment! So, I thought I would turn it into a card. I only have bought the Bo Bunny 6x6 card pack. This pack I bought before Christmas on a trip out to my LSS in Langley. I quite liked it, and tought it was perfect for cards.

Let's Get Crafty Episode # 58: A Wish Came True Single Layout with a Bonus Layout

This is the second video in a series where I begin designing my wedding album. I use lots of pictures in my layouts, and my cricut. This 12 x12 layout was for my inlaws album that I made for the Christmas. Next week, I will be actually starting my own album!

Thanks for stopping by!

Let's Get Crafty Episode # 57: Quick Card Kit Series # 1

Quick Card Kits are a great way to get crafty and use up your scraps at the same time. I have little Ziploc bags where I put a bunch of patterened paper, and images that I think go together well that I could use for a card. I pre-cut the A2 size card and have all the materials together in the card. I think it works out fantastically. When I have a moment to come into my room to create, but don't want to make a big mess pulling everything out...all I have to do is take a Ziploc bag with a whole bunch of materials ready to be made into a card! This one is fun!

Looking at all my posts lately one can see I am definitely on a Greeting Farm Theme in all of my cards!

Momo's First Tuesday Challenge of 2011

Well,  in the spirit of using what I have and getting motivated to do this through trying out different challenges, I thought I would make a card for Momo's challenge. She has had these challenges for quite some time, but this is only the second or third time that I have participated in the challenge! It is so much fun to see what others create too. There are always so many entries into her challenges. This card was one I designed in my Gypsy! Boy oh Boy, do I love that machine or what! The tree is cut out from the Gypsy wanderings cartridge. The pink deer is cut out from the Cindy Loo cartridge. I used glitter glue to go around the very edge of the scallop. The tree was cut out with left over pink snowflake paper from the Tis the Season pack of 2010 that I purchased at Micheals. It was the patterned paper that I based my theme on. If you look closely enough you can see the snow along the branches. This was done with a special snow pen made by Marvy. You put the product on like you would with a regular marker. But, when you heat it up with your embossing heat gun, it looks like snow. I am very happy with how the snow looks. The back ground was made with the Momento Rose Bud dye ink and a Studio G snowflake. The butterflies were made with a butterfly hand punch. I saw Sarah from LiveLovesandScrap use her heart hand punch in a reccent video, so I thought I would use mine too. Although there really wouldn't be butterflies in winter, but hey I like the look of it!

Escape and Bird Cage Card with My Gypsy

I have been busy creating this week. I had this file in my Gypsy from when I was sick and at home on the sofa resting. I immediately took my chance this week to create this card when I came home one evening this week. It looks a lot like the previous card, but is still different at the same time. I used the Serenatde cartridge for the birdcage, bird, and butterfly. I used Paisley for the flowers, and then I used Gypsy Wanderings for the Blue cutout and the Escape. I thought that this card would be great for those blank cards when you need a theme. Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Birdie Told Me

I have been having a lot of fun with my Gypsy! I create on the sofa when hanging out with hubby watching TV. Then when I have some time to make something. I do that in my scraproom. This particular card I made with my Mom on Monday night. They came over to visit, so my husband could say good-bye to them until they return from Arizona in the spring. I waant to show my mom what the cartridge could do, as well as use one of the new cartridges that I received just before Christmas. The cuts for this cartridge come from the Serenade cartridge, and the saying "A Little Bird Told Me" comes from the "Straight From the Nest Cartridge. I used my birds and swirls cuttlebug empossing folder on the A2 sise paper. I did faux stiching around the outside edge of the card, and made sure to corner round the edges first. I pop dotted the birdcage, and the birds on top of the cage. I orginally intended the birds to go on the inside of the cage, but you couldn't seem them this way. A lot of the patterned paper that I have seen lately has the birds on the outside of the cate anyways. I stickled the butterfly, burds, and the leaves of the tree for some more interest!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge of 2011 # 1: Snow Delights

Well, my goal this year is to really get going on projects, and using the wonderful supplies that I have in my collection. I received a new cartridge before Christmas. Winter Woodlands, and although it has been out for quite awhile, I just got it, and it is a great cartridge.

The Challenge at Fantabulous Cricut this week is to Create a Project and incorporate snow or snowflakes.

Since I am starting to get into the mood to make Valentines Day projects. I thought I would take the pretty snowflakes and cute winter sayings from the Winter Woodland cartrdige and combine it with the Sweethearts cartridge to make a love card. The pink patterned snowflake paper is DCWV from their Tis the Season pack. It doesn't really show up in the picture but, stickled the frosty kisses words, and the snowflakes, as well as put some swirls around the snowflakes.

I am really happy with the results because it was a card that I was able to design with my Gypsy. It was a Christmas present, and my oh my am I having so much fun with it. I made three other cards this week with it that I will be posting this weekend.

Gloria's Card Sketch Challenge 0f 2011 # 1

Well, I am trying to create as many cards, as I can this year. So, I was off to a good start on Monday afternoon when I was able to make four of these cards based on Gloria's Sketch. I am going to put them aside and then when I need to make a quick card set, I will have a variety to chose from and put in a gift box for someone! This card is quite simple and uses very few cricut cuts. The scallop, flourish and the circle were cut out with the cricut. The stamps are by Imaginecse.

Let's Get Crafty: My Favourite Scrap Things of 2010

There is a youtube challenge on right now that was posted my Carolanne of LogansCraftyMama, and she is asking scrappers to do a video to give a list of their favourite scrapgoodies of 2010. I thought this would be a great way to reflect on what I have, and make me think about using all those great goodies, as I start towards a goal that encourages me to use my videos first before I go and buy something. So, thanks for watching!

My 2011 New Year's Resolutions

I find the New Year very exciting as there are all these possibilities and you have a fresh new year to look forward to all these possibilities! I am very excited to beginning 2011 without having to balance school, work, and fun! I just have work and fun to balance now, and I think this is going to make 2011 much easier than it was last year! That is something I am very thankful for because the end of 2010 was being very sick with the rest of the year catching up to me!

But, I am ready to move on and have so many ideas about how to be having a Fabulous 2011. Now, last year I didn't take the time to set official New Year's Resolutions and post them here on the Blog. I didn't do it because my husband talked me out of it because he doesn't believe in new year's resolutions because he sees it as something that is very difficult to maintain for the year and people tend to break them after the first month. But, in previous years where I set my New Year's resolutions, I quite enjoyed going through this process and felt it was worthwhile, so my hubby can do what he wants with goal setting and I am back this year to announce my 2011 goals. I have broken down my goals into two parts. My Lifestyle goals for 2011 and My Crafty Goals for 2011. This is to ensure that I can do both, and can be a little more specific in terms of Craft goals. So, I thought I would start with:

MY LIFESTYLE GOALS FOR 2011.
  1. My first goal for this year is to maintain balance between work and home life. I know this is something that we all struggle with, but 2010 was about focussing more on work and school than home stuff, and now it is time to enjoy the homelife by being better prepared with meal planning, grocery shopping, and housework. I know it is all something that we don't always enjoy, but I enjoy the home that we live in and I want to make sure I spend time enjoying it. I can best do this by taking care of the house and myself in the home!
  2.  Fitness is another area that I have neglected in 2010 due to coursework. This is something that is very important, and I would like to support my fitness goals in two ways this year. The first one being visiting Fitness World and taking group fitness classses, and the second way I would like to support my fitness goal is doing my Zumba fitness work out that my hubby purchased for me for Christmas. It is a whole bunch of fun dancing in the living room, and the 20 minute workouts are a great way to get some cardio everyday.
  3. House Organization. is the third and final goal that I am going to set for myself this year. This goal will be sorting through different boxes and odds and ends to purge wherever I can. I already started this before the new year, when I got rid of two garabage bags of clothes for donations. I also tied the spare bedroom, and it felt good to have it all organized. I would like to continue this spree by sorting through stuff in different areas of the house. I know this is often a January thing. But, I would like to do this throughout the year! Keeps clutter down to a minumum.
MY CRAFTING GOALS FOR 2011.

  1. I would like to do more 12 x 12 scrapbooking this year than I did last year. It will be easier to accomodate this because I have more time to sit down and create a layout or two where as before I didn`t have the same amount of time to do this, so I would make cards. But, now I have two albums that I would like to work oun. The first one being my wedding album, and the second one would be our honeymoon album. It would be great if I could finish both of these albums this year. But, I don`t want to get too ahead of myself! LOL!
  2. I would also like to continue with my goal of doing one crafty video a week. I have quite a few different ideas and themes, and look forward to creating and sharing these projects with you!
  3. The third and final goal, which I can`t even believe I am about to admit out loud, but I am going to take the plunge and put it here. But, I am going to be limititng the amount I spend on scrapbooking supplies. I have so many fabulous goodies to use here that I have bought, and it is time to get creating and use those supplies first. Now, that is not to say I am not going to buy anything this whole year because that is just too unrealistic, but I am going to make a reak point of going to my supplies first!
Well, when I sat down to do this post, I didn`t anticipate it would be this long to get all these ideas down. But apparently, I had a lot to say and think about. But, that is okay. This Blog has always been a way for me to journal my thinking and crafts throughout the year. Putting it out there for myself and others to refer to is way that helps me build accountability to myself!

Happy New Year!
