New Year's Resolution

Well, I can't believe 2006 has nearly come to an end. I have made some fun memories this year! Highlights would be my Girl Weekends to Whistler and Seattle this summer. All the fun memories and laughs with good friends! Finally, the Kenny ROgers concert with my Dad, where he got a lot of attention from Kenny Rogers! It didn't seem that long ago that I set my 2006 New Year's Resolutions, and here I am reflecting on the success I have had with my New Year's Resolutions! Looking back a year ago, I set the following resolutions for myself:

1.) Keep my Scraproom Better Organized as I am working on projects,in hopes that I will do more projects.

2.)Leave work early a minimum of one day a week, and use that time to be active at the gym and creative in my scrap space.

3.) Don't sweat the small stuff.

Well, I would like to say that I was very successful with my 2006 resolutions. I completed many different scrapbooking projects this year. I have been going to Bikram's Yoga on a weekly basis, and have tried many different type of workout routines this year such as running clubs, aquafit, and many other activities that have kept me very active and feeling better. My New Year's Resolutions have impacted me in a very big way and I have realized now that it is very important to take care of myself.

So, it is now time to think about my New Year's Resolutions for 2007! I would like to continue with the resolutions from last year!

But, because they are suppose to be NEW for 2007! I have set a couple of new ones!

1.)To drink more water!

2.) To begin taking steps to complete my Master's in Education.

I believe it is important to keep my resolutions manageable, so I don't set very many. But, I will do my best effort to work towards these!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Celebrate Good Times!!!

Well, tonight I can say that I am finally done my report cards! I am getting better at this whole reporting out thing, which is a blessing considering I am at the beginning of my career. My principal had very good things to say about them, as she could tell that I really know my students and said the parents will be able to tell that I really know my students. Julie is a very supportive sister, and she helped me proofread them, so there were very few mistakes that I had to change once my principal checked them over! It was great! It always feels good when the sets are completed and out of my mind, as I can move on to better things.

I am very eager to get back at making things in my craft space! I have been very tempted to work on christmas projects as I use the same room for my report cards. But, I resisted the temptation!!!

This week is a very busy week ahead of me. Tuesday night, I am going to my friend Frances's Choir Concert in Richmond. It is a sold out show, so she is very pleased that I am able to go see her and that there were tickets left so that I could go. Wednesday night my Mom and Dad fly in for Christmas and it is my school's Christmas Concert at the Massey Theatre in New Westminster!!! The students are very excited and some how the line dance is coming all together and it is going to look great! Thursday is just a regular work day, but usually a somewhat quiet day considering the students are pretty exhausted from the night before. Finally, Friday our principal is providing lunch for all of for working so hard on our report cards and suriving all the disruptions for preparation for the Christmas Concert! She takes such good care of all of us!

It should be a busy week that will just fly by!

Report Card Season!

Well, I am heading into the last week and weekend to work on my report cards. I think they are going quite well, as i only have the student behaviour, LA, and math comments left to do. I have a template ready to go, so it is just about going into the program and doing what needs to be done. I have been trying to do a little bit in the evenings this week to help cut down on the time spent on the weekend. But, I will still be spending a good chunk of the weekend working on the reports. It is exhausting when you feel like you don't get a lot of down time. Yes, I did a lot of stuff this weekend, but they are constantly on the back of your mind that they need to get done, but who really wants to do a whole bunch of work on your own time. Anyways, I suppose I have whined enough about the time it is taking to complete them, but by this time next week they will all be handed in and I will be able to unwind and get all my Christmas shopping out of the way!

Holiday Spirit Fun With Friends!

Last night, was the monthly movie night that I have with my friends Frances and Jenny. Since it was the beginning of December, I chose a Christmas movie to watch. So, I chose "It's A Wonderful Life"! It is a great movie and has a true holiday spirit message! Then today, I went to the annual Christmas Craft Fair at the Coquitlam Rec Centre with my friends Tara and Julia. However, it didn't seem as big this year? Not sure if it was because we came on a Sunday or not. I bought one Christmas present, and then bought this treat for myself for working hard on my report cards. It is a necklace that is made out of a domino. (Handpainted) It is a unique piece of jewlery that I have seen a few members on staff wear, so I couldn't resist to buy one for myself. I am also thinking that I might have the students in my class make these for a mother's day present too!(Always thinking like a teacher!) Back to my report cards!

Deck the Halls

Well, it is December first and I am all decorated for Christmas. I bought my first Christmas present two weeks ago. Julie and I hung out and had a pizza and pop night, and we decorated my place together!. It doesn't take long when there are two of you and the fact that I don't have a big house to deocrate! However, I am realizing after tonight that I have quite the collection of Christmas things. But, it has all come together nicely. I even had cookies made for me, by Julie, so my place smelled very holiday like too! Now all I have to do is get those darn report cards done, and I am ready for the holidays!
