Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Well, I am pretty confused as to what season we are in at the momment. It is still fall, as I keep telling my students. But, winter has hit early this weekend. It has been snowing on and off since Saturday. The one thing that I do have to be thankful for is the fact that I don't have to worry about the shovelling or commuting aspect of the snowfall. My poor sister has been out shovelling two or three times today now, and she says she is fed up with the snow! Apparantely, we are suppose to have flurries overnight as well. So the real problem will be commuting to work tomorrow morning. I am not lookinf forward to that. I will get up early, and give myself lots of time to get organized and take my time getting to work.

The snow didn't scare me away from heading to Yoga today. I went to the 2:00 session, and we had a different instructor then normal. They all have their strengths which is great, as he helped me on the spinal twist that I always feel really awkward in. It was odd today, as the class is normally filled with mostly females, but today their was half and half. It is amazing how much more my body has become stronger and flexible since I started last year, and all I have been doing is once a week sessions! I feel so good after that it motivates me for the rest of the afternoon.

So, with the burst of energy I decided to tidy up my scrap space in preparation for the upcoming two report cards weekends. Yuck! The one thing about my job that I don't like. It will most likely take up both weekends. But, I plan to have some fun activities in and around the weekend, so that I don't spend the entire time working on them! One of them being getting my place all decorated for Christmas! I can't wait!

Happy Blogversary!

Well, who would have thought that I have been updating this blog for a whole year! My actual blogversary date was on November 13th, so I am a little late in celebrating. But, I have been out having too much fun, to be here at the computer updating every week. I thought I would share some photos of some of the different activities that I have been up to over the last couple of weekends!

Lest We Forget

Today is a specail day we should not take for granted! It seems more and more that we are becoming immune to violence. But, no one would want to personally experience the devastation of war!

Home Sick

Well, the sick season hit early for me this year. Usually, I have enough anti-bodies to make it through until January, but not this year. I woke up early Tuesday morning with a very high fever, and had to take Tuesday off. I slept for almost the whole day. It was ridiculous how much rest I needed, but as a result I started to feel a bit better on Tuesday night. The fever is gone, but I still have a sore throat and a sinus cold. However, I am taking lots of vitamin C and resting on the sofa today to make sure I am all healthy again. There is no great time to be sick when your a teacher. But, this week now I have already missed three meetings being sick, and I am not there to help my students get ready for the Remembrance Day Assembly, or the observe the student teachers on their lessons. The class will be reciting the poem In Flander's Field. So, I have lots to prepare for and catch up once I get back to work.

Wet and Rainy Weekend!

Well, there is something said for just taking it easy and resting at home. This past weekend the rain has kept me indoors, and for good reason I think. Last week I was suffering with a cold. But, lots of rest and fluids, and I am actually feeling like I am on the mend, and no longer have a cold.

Friday night, I had a great visit with Grandpa and Grandma. They were so excited to see Julie and I. We had some good laughs and some home cooked food. That is always very enjoyable. Julie came over to my house, and we rented the movie America Dreamz. It was an interesting satire of the whole Amreican Idol series that has been on Television for a few years now. We made plans to visit Dinno, Shirley, and Lisa next Monday on the holiday. Lookng forward to that!

Saturday night I attended Sara's soccer fundraiser. The hockey game was on, so the time was spent catching up with Sara, as I haven't seen her in a very long time, and watching the game. We even managed to get a little bit of dancing in at the Foggy Dew. However, I don't think I will wear a sweater the next time. Walking back to the car was a terrential down pour.

Sunday I slept and napped for a lot of the day. I cleaned up my place, and finished the laundry for the week. Watched the movie my Big Fat Greek Wedding.
