Report Cards are Done For Spring Break!

Phew! I have just finished report cards for this week. I am so happy that they are all finished now. I have them completed as far as I can, as there were eight studetns who were away the last week before Spring Break, and they still have some assignments to complete and hand in.

Of course when I get back there is the editing piece that needs to be completed as well. BUt, I will get that done the Monday and Tuesday Night when I get back after Spring Break. It is a bit of a nuisance, but that is what I have to do to get everything all done.

I have been having some fun playing in my scraproom. I completed some more pages on my Alasakan Cruise book. Julie was over last night scrapbooking. We had a good time!

Well, I am off to do some long overdue housework.

Happy Good Friday!

Spring Break Arrives!

Spring Break arrived just in time! If it arrived any later I think I would have collapsed. The stretch from January to Spring Break is a long one with no breaks or long weekends in there, so I couldn't be happier that I am going to have a two week break. Going to school part-time and working full time is quite the undertaking. (This is not meant to sound like complaining because I am certainly not trying to complain!) I define myself as an achiever, so it is very hard to be this simultaneously at school and at work. I enjoy being creative and enthusiastic in both of these areas, but keeping the pace that I kept when I was working as a full time teacher or studying as a full-time student in undergrad is just too difficult to do together in both areas, but I think I had to try first.

Yesterday, I had dinner at Mom and Dad's, and I fell asleep on the sofa. Then I drove home and crawled into bed and slept until 12:00p.m this morning. Akk that is a long time. I feel revitalized now, and am looking forward to a very restful Spring Break. Here are a few things that I will be working towards on Spring Break!

1.) Report Cards (yes i know that does sound ridiculous to you teachers, but I am just releived that I don't have to fit those in amongst school and work) (All Done)

2.) Compleing course design project. ( I have the plan it is just pulling it all together now)

3.) Scrapbooking

4.) Beginning to think about wedding details.

5.) Trip to Seattle

So, I have quite a bit a time ahead of me, and I am looking forward to relaxing and enjoying it.

HAPPY SPRING BREAK!

Fantasic Class Tonight!

Well, I had my ninth master's class tonight. I don't really know where the time is going, but it is going by awfully fast. It seems these days that there really isn't much time for much. However, tonight's class was a lot of fun, and time flew by as the we were learned about four different tools in class. It was great, as I was just saying this week that I find that we don't have enough opportunity to explore all the options out there. So, I was thinking about how I could go about using some of the technologies. We leaned about Diigo, Sketchcast, Wiki's and podcasts. All a lot of fun! We had a lot of laughs and enjoyed sharing our knowledge with everyone! It was a lot of fun. Just had to share my excitement!

Check out my sketchcast.

Broken Elbow and First Canucks Game.

Well, things have been hoppin here in my neck of the woods. It all started with a phonecall a week ago Thursday, when I found out that my Mom broke her elbow in Arizona with a bike whipeout. It got messy when the darn insurance company wouldn't pay for the surgery, as the visit to the orthopedic surgeon revealed that the bone was no longer attached to the muscle. So that was quite scary. However, Mom was booked on a flight on the Wednesday this past week, but wouldn't you know it the flight was cancelled. So, one more day we waited unitl Mom was home. We were concerned about her arrival home because the Orthopedic doctor had told us that time was of the essence, so there was no permanent damage.

She arrived here in Vancouver safely at 11:30pm Thursday night, and a trip straight to the emergency was followed. Julie was great, as she was able to get the day off to help Mom out with driving to and from the Airport, hospital etc. Saturday morning Mom received her phonecall to say that there was a surgery space open for operation. Andrei and I drove Mom right away to her appointment. We were all relieved that she got in so quickly, thank goodness for Canadian healthcare. She made it through surgery, and now she has been resting at home. She is a strong lady with a strong pain tolerance.

This has been quite the whole ordeal. I am so thankful that I have a great little sister who was able to pull up the slack. She has been great with making arrangements and taking care of Mom and keeping the family informed. It is a hard thing to do. It has been hard for me to keep track whether I am coming or going with coursework, work responsibilities, and life stuff in general. But, I am looking forward to a new week, as I am sure it can only get better from here. I have lots of homework to get caught up on, as I did none of this weekend, while waiting for Mom's surgery, and trying to get my computer reconnected to the internet so I could get going on my coursework.

But, I did have a good time on Friday Night. Andrei and I went to our firts Hockey Game together. I had never been to a single hockey game, but Andrei has a few times. It was a Christmas present that I gave him. It was a lot of fun to watch and cheer the team on. Unfortunately, they lost. But, here are a few photos from the night.
