Bridal Shower

Today I through my first Bridal Shower for my friend Debbie. She is getting married on July 15th in Winnipeg. I invited a few people from work to come celebrate. It was a fabulous afternoon of conversation and fun! I even was able to find a cake that was pink and brown. Debbie's colours of her wedding. There was lots of food for everyone and now I have lots of leftovers for lunches this week, which is great because it is always so difficult to decide what to make for lunch as June nears.

Finally... I am in the Millenium now with High-Speed

Well, it is about time! I am now able to work on my blog, and talk on the Internet all at the same time! I thought it would never happen! I have been using dial-up since I moved in, as I thought it was good enough. But, time has changed and I needed new up-to-date (like 5 years ago) high speed Internet. I can't believe the difference in speed from dial-up! Now I can surf to my little heart's desire, and I don't have to worry about tieing up my telephone!

Happy Father's Day!

Well, today is the day we celebrate the importance of our father. My dad is very special to me, as he has always put his family first. He was the provider for the family, and would work very hard so that we would have all the great things like the house with our great backyard to play in, the motorhome for all our great camping trips, and the boat for all are fun times at the lake are just a few of the major things that we have. He would race home from work, so that he could coach our softball teams. He would come to my brownie meetings to teach us about fire safety. He always volunteered at school whether it was coaching or helping out on sports days. Once summer he drove home to work four shifts for an extension so that we would have a longer summer vacation at the lake.

My Dad does a lot of great things for me. There is his expertise in fixing things like cars, house stuff, and computer problems that I come to rely on so much, and which would appear sometimes to take for granted. But, I don't. I really appreciate all the help and support that my dad has given to me with all of these things and many more.

Whether it has been driving me all the way out to Surrey in the Snow to get to class, or up to SFU in the snow to get to my class that was then canceled. The favourite shopping trips where we go out together to get one thing, but then later come home spending way more money on something that was a way better deal or much fancier. My stero system in particular. His soft spot for his girls is never missed, as we get spoiled with technology type gifts like our steros or cameras, for example. Or, the looks I was able to give my Dad, so that he would buy me the shoes that I just had to had when I was in elementary school.

He is my Dad and I love the whole package!

Happy Father's Day!

I Have a New School Home

I can't believe it has finally happened. I have been going through the whole where will I work next year for at 3 weeks now. Of course being the worrier that I am, it was starting to get to me! I wasn't sleeping as good, and I was sensitive when people asked me where I was working. Better than in the past, but still quite uneasy. (It is in my genes!)

Anyways, I had a feeling that I was going to know very soon because the district wanted to have all the continuing teachers that are like me in a postition by the end of round three. But, by Friday I still hadn't heard anything. Then afterschool, I was talking in my classroom about an up coming meeting, and Tracy my principal came in to announce that she had "some good news for me". My first reaction was, she knows where I am going to be working, and she is here to tell me. Then all of a sudden she says there is a position here at Spencer for me, the same position that I have now! I didn't know what to think! I was in shock. My facial reactions didn't really give a clear indication that I was excited because I thought I would have to apply, and all that other stuff.

But, then when I realized what had happened and that I had a new teaching home for as long as I want I couldn't stop moving! I don't have to pack up my boxes, and I am teaching at a great grade level! Yeah! I have now settled in and can just enjoy the profession that I love so dearly!

How does your Garden Grow?

Well, it is getting to be that time of year, when I admire the beautfiul flowers in my Mom's garden. It is particularly beautiful this year to sit outside because the Gazebo is finished and the landscaping around the pond and yard is complete. She has arranged these adorable pots in the backyard with wave petunias. I decided that I wanted more colour on my deck this year, so I bought some little yellow pots. Mom helped plant the purple wave petunias in the pots, and all I have to do is arrange them on my deck and water. I only bought two pots, but I think I want one more because things look better in the rule of three. So my deck will be colourful and ready for me to sit outside on my Patio and enjoy. I currently have my hydrangea flower pot that is growing big, and will be beautiful once gain!

Happy Anniversary To Me!

Well, today is the anniversary of me becoming a home owner! It has been a year since I have owned my own place in the world. It is hard to believe that a year has passed already. I almost feel like I should do something to celebrate! But, I really feel comfortable here, and it feels like home. I have found myself more and more rushing home from work to just relax in the space here.

I love my big soaker bath tub to relax in after a stressful day. I like the fact that it is so quiet here, and that I have very beautiful nature view. I love the fact that I can sit on my balcony and do marking or read a book. I love that it is my space, and I can decorate and do whatever I want in it. But, most of all, I love the scrap space that I have here. I have been able to do much creating here since I moved in, and I am looking forward to more scrapbooking to come!

It is home and I am proud of my space!
