Keepin VERY Busy as Usual...

Geez, where does the time go. I can't believe how fast the weeks are going by. It seemed forever until my sister's graduation, and then all of a sudden it has come and gone, and now we are ready to start doing wedding things.

This weekend I have quite a bit of readings to do, and all the other errands to get my house ready to sell. It is all good! One day at a time, and hopefully I can participate in the Online Scrapweekend. But, I don't know if it is going to work out.

My First Acrylic Album

I have been working on this project for quite a few weeks. When I came home tonight from work, I did not feel like doing homework, so I finished this off tonight. I would have to say that it is the most challenging project that I have completed to date. Thanks for looking!

Keeping Busy as Usual...

This weekend was no exception in terms of the activities that I had planned for the weekend. It was very busy. Andrei and I had our first Marriage preparation class. It was a four hour class held at a Catholic Church Gym in Coquitlam. It was actually a very good session, and we have two more to complete before we are approved to be married in Andrei's Church.

Andrei and I then headed to Costco to look into the furniture that they have there. We bought a bed at a really great price in the fall with some of our engagement money. We were told that they have some matching coordinating furniture to go with it. We checked that out, and liked some of it. But, it is too difficult to buy any of that stuff when we don't have our own house to put it in. However, we did see these scrapbook paper carts that are designed for 12 x 12 scrapbook paper. Now, those are fantastic. Andrei was just as excited if not more excited than me about the purchase of these carts. They are wonderful, as they are shallow storage drawers that pull all the way out. So, they are perfect for storing the oodles of patterned scrapbook paper I have as well as the large collection of wooden stamps I have.

As soon as we came back to my house, Andrei immediately went to work assembling the fist one. It is a very cool storage unit. I haven't had time to set it all up, but hope to do so next weekend.

We had a wonderful dinner with both of our parents on Saturday night, at Andrei's house. We talked about the wedding, and I learned some new traditions that Andrei's parents would like to do.

Sunday was spent at the 30th Annual Wedding Fair. It was a huge fair. The fashion show was fantastic, and I couldn't believe how many brides and people there were. I went with my Mom and we delivered prize sheets to many of the booths. It was worth going, and I got a lot of different ideas. I once again took photos to get ideas for my own wedding reception. Of course, at the fair the sky is the limit. However, I am doing my best not to get carried away.

Monday night I had to squeeze the remainder of my homework in, and then I had my 5hr class on Tuesday night. So, this past week, I haven't really known what free time is.

3 Last Cards...

Here are three cards that I made today. I enjoyed making these cards and the freedom that I have had from work and school. It will be a busy semester, but nothing I can't handle. I just need to remember to take one day at a time. I have nejoyed my time off, but as always it never seems like enough! A new year with new challenges.

Thanks for checking out the cards.

Winter Wonderland....Not!

I had a surprise phonecall from my Dad today. At 10:30 this morning, he called to inform me that the carport that he had built for the Motor Home collapsed from all the snow. It was quite the mess let me tell you. Thankfully it was at 4:30 in the morning, and no one was hurt. The trailer in the photo is a friends trailer. It is hard to say how much damage is done to the trailer.

The insurance company was contacted and they are taking care of everything. You can see in the pictures the hedge of trees was badly damaged as well. Everything will be removed and the trees were cut down today. What a way to start 2009 hey!

Using My Stash Card # 1

I saw a card last night on the Hero Arts Blog last night. I usually get my inspiration from all over, and then just create my own card from the inspiration. however there was something about this exact card that I liked. I looked at the supplies, and took the challenge to replicate it exactly without buying anything special, and using my scrap paper for the embelisshments. So here is my creation! Hope you like it! I used Joy of the Season Cricut Cartriage for the decoration, and Storybook for the leaf. I used my scallop scissors for the white border with my crop-a-dile and small whole punch. Thanks for checking out my blog.

This ia my version of the card.

Happy New Year 2009!

Wow! I can't believe it is 2009 already. When Andrei and I set the date for the wedding this seemed so far away. But, now the year is here, and I have a lot of exciting changes to look forward to!

New Years Eve was a lot of fun. Andrei and I went downtown to the Empire Landmark Hotel. The party was put on my City Salsa Vibe. It was a great party. There were three different rooms playing different types of music. We got a westcoast swing dance lesson and learned five latin dances. There were three dance performances and one belly dancer performance. It was a very good time! We stayed at the hotel as well, so we didn't have to worry about designated drivers, and the other drivers and weather conditions. Andrei helped me with one of my New Years Resolutions. Mr. Organizer himself helped me sort through everything in my closet. I trimmed the clutter, and organized the closet. I dont' think I would have lasted if it wasn't for his positive attiude and enthusisum. The closet looks great, now I just have to keep it that way right. The scraproom and the closet, oh oh.

I spent the day doing quite a few errands, I made a good healthy dinner as part of my New Year's Resolutions, and I prepared a special lunch for when my Aunt and Uncle come over for lunch tomorrow to see my decorations up in my house. This is the last Chrismtas I will be living in this apartment. Crazy! So, after my Mom and Dad visit and Dinno and Shirley visit the decorations will come down, and the house will come back to normal. Give it a good clean, and then I have one day left before I head back to work.

I played in my scraproom tonight. I made items for the Girly Swap that I am hosting on the message board that I enjoy visiting. I made seven sets of them, and packaged them up all nice. I will post a picture of everyone else's creations when I receive all of them sometime around Janurary 15th 2009. I am also working on a canvas project for my Mom and Dad. Then I want to tackle the acrylic album of our engagement party photos. But, some where in there I have to clean up my bathroom. I hate scrubbing the tub, so there are still some things I need to do yet.
