Scrap Night At Gloria's

Despite the drive in the snow going home.... I had a fabulous time at Gloria's for her crop night. I was able to complete two wedding layouts! They were incpired by an Alison Davis Sketch. However, they look nothing like her sketches, so I have decided not to share the page numbers of the books. However, the key is that I was able to complete these two themed pages, and I am inspired with another one in the works. I am hoping to turn the layout that I am currently thinking about into a Wedding Wednesday episode on you tube because it has been quite a while since I have posted any you tube videos! I just haven't had mojo for cards or layouts.

But, after my prep for Gloria's crop I feel like I have started to get my creating groove back! I have been puttering in my room today trying to get it all cleaned up and let me tell you it looks a whole lot better! But, there is is still some decluttering required! However, once I spend some time in this space, I seem to get inspired! I have a few projects that I am looking forward to!

Alison Davis Sketch Volume 6 Page 21

I got scrappy last weekend after meeting with my online scrappy friends! I asked for Lisa's help when we were at the Country Lane. She does such a great job of the Alison Davis sketches, so she gave me some tips, and I was able to finish my friend's son's layout! She absolutely loved it and said it will go very well in my her son's bedroom. They are going to use it as a bedtime ritual to look at all the pictures of the family members. I used the create a critter cartridge and the All Mixed Cartridge for the Ma Famillie! I am very pleased with the layout and I am in the process of preparing for a layput that I can do tonight!

February Friendship Tea Party: A Success

My February Tea Party was a tremendous success! I had a lot of fun, and received wonderful comments as to how lovely it was! I know I always get carried away with these kind of things, but I thought this was a fabulous way to bring my eclectic group of friends together! A few were unable to attend due to work comittments, but I think I may make this a tradition for the future.  The first picture was the party favour that I made for everyone. It has a few little jelly beans, chocolate, and heart ju-jubes in there. I wrapped them all up with a clear plastic bag and then used that curly ribbon to decorate. For you crafters, I used the Joys of the Season Cartridge and the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More. Gale from the Happy Stamper gave me the idea for the doily shaped hearts. I used these for the wine glasses. The wine glasses were used for water. However, most of us just stuck with the tea! I used all of my good china and tea cups. Somehow tea just tastes better when it is in a Tea Cup! The roses on the table came from Costco, and I have heard things about the quality of the roses, but I am very pleased with them!

It was a wonderful afternoon, and I would love to host another one sometime!

February Friendship Tea pParty

I have wanted to through a tea party for quite awhile. But, didn't really have the time to do this. Then the idea of Friendship week at work twigged my mind to do a Friendship Tea Party, and have a Valentine theme since I am hosting this in the month of February. I googled tea parties and even googled Valentine Tea Parties and have found a wealth of ideas out there to help you out. Ehow has a series of videos to prepare for your tea party. I also found this fascinating blog that shares a person's love for tea and all the places that she has been all over the world for tea parties.

Now in my research I have learned that a High Tea like the one I will be hosting is usually held later in the afternoon. The suggested time was 3:30 or later as it is a supplement to dinner. I didn't realize this when I set the time of my tea, so I chose 1:30. I will be spending this week preparing for the evening. I have some things already to go, and an idea for place settings. I have more guests than I expected to have coming, which will make for a fabulous afternoon. This tea party will be a great way to reconnect with friends after three years of mayhem with course work. It will also be a fabulous way to bring my eclectic group of friends together.

The funny thing about this Tea Party is that a few people have asked if there will be tea to sell after this even because there seems to be a party circut going on where you are invited to a party and expected to buy something. I have recently been to a Norwex Party and a Stella&Dot Party. But, I wanted to throw a party where there was no obligation to purchase anything.
