Teacher's Gone Wild in Whistler!

Well, Labour Day Weekend is quickly coming to an end. The last official long weekend of summer, and for us teachers the reality has sunk in that we will be heading back to work tomorrow. But, a group of us decided that we couldn't dwell in self-pity over the entire long weekend. We had to get out and enjoy this last long weekend of freedom and no worries of work.

Debbie a friend that I work with at Spencer asked me if I would like to join her and some friends for a weekend at Whistler. We all decided that it was a great way to keep our mind off of thinking about work! Michelle has a friend with a Condo in Whisltler that is right in the Village! It was awesome, as we could just walk to everything. The condo was fully equipped, so we did most of our cooking on the barbeque outside. It even had it's own private hot tub. The condo slept eight.

We got to do a little of everything from going to the night club on Friday night, sleeping in, a six kilometre hike, shopping in the village, day at the beach, and dancing the night away in our Condo. We had a rule that we weren't aloud to talk about teaching over the weekend. However, we all seemed to manage to break it throughout the weekend. But, imagine if we didn't have the rule!

It was a great time, and as we left we were planning our next weekend away. The one thing that I have learned this summer is the fact that you don't need to go far away to feel like you have had a real holiday, you can be a tourist in your own town and still get a "getaway".
