Scrapbooker in Training!!!

I invited my girlfriend Tara and her daughter over for a crafty day! Her daughter loves crafting and I don't always get to visit with her daugher. So, at the beginning of summer we said that we were going to definitely do a crafty day!!! Today was the day! And boy is her daugher ever a natural!! I didn't have any project in particular planned! But, I knew that Tinkerbell would be a huge hit! I have had the Tinkerbell Cricut cartridge for a very long time. But, have never cut out Silvermist. These shapes are definitely meant to be put together at this size. ( I used fit to page.  It makes it so much easier to cut and place the layers!

Hunter was a natural. She glittered with pazazz and spread a little fairy dust at the same time. She used the tiny tweezers to place the items down that her Mom glued down. She cut the patterned cardstock behind the picture with fancy scissors.

Although she played it very "cool" throughout the entire project! I think you could tell how very excited she was at the end with her finished project! It was a fabulous afternoon...enjoyed with great company! I knew Hunter was hooked when she was already planning her next project for her next visit!!

Word Verification Removed

Pretty please!

Okay...I am slightly embarrassed to admit this, but I thought I had removed the word verification on my blog ages ago! However, a lovely poster persevered from Tiddly Inks to let me know, after three attempts I might that I had the word verification feature on my blog. Thankyou LoopyLou for letting me know that I had this on, and for commenting on my Tiddly Inks challenge card.

Now, let me tell you. I find word verification a pain in the....(fill in the blank here). I have tried to leave comments on other blogs, but give up if I can't get the word. And ironically, there could be followers out there, or visitors...who actually have done the same on my blog. Therefore, I wanted to make a comment to all of you out there in blog land who have tried to leave a comment, but have totally become frustrated here with this. It has now been removed...and hope that this may encourage a few of you to post now!

Thanks so much for your loyal visits!
I really do enjoy sharing my creations with you all!

Christmas Card 2012 # 9

Since the weather was cool, and Andrei was asleep upstairs! I knew it was time to get crafty in my room. I have had the paper to make these cards sitting to the side. As an attempt to use clear up my studio. I knew it was time to get crafty and make these cards. I made three sets of 4 cards for the craft fair. I just love this little birdie stamp from a Christmas Inkadinkadoo set that I bought three years ago! I saw a card very similar to this at the time, and immediately went on a mission so that I could use this stamp. I knew that I wanted to use this stamp again for this Christmas Craft Fair! So, I whipped up these cards today! Nothing says Christmas like snow, white, and red. The sentiment used on this card is from my new verve set. It was great to begin using those, as I bought them to begin using on my Christmas craft fair projects! I want to make a few more card sets, and then I am going to take a break and work on some pretty packaging of candles to have on my craft fair table!!

Verve August Challenge: Week 3

The weather cooled down, and now I have some time to get crafty!! Loving this opportunity to be in my space! Once again my room has become a disaster!! It is time to tidy it up again to regroup with these crafty projects!

I have so many creative ideas filtering through my mind that I don't know where to start sometimes!! Lol...

Today I was able to complete this card that I started midweek. I have a person in mind that I am going to be giving this card to! I don't consider masculine cards to be my strength! So, I find myself getting hung up in the embellishments! However, after my visit with Gloria yesterday! I had a brainwave! I could use buttons! These work very well! Gloria also convinced me of the importance of buttons that are not naked on projects. (That is using buttons without any fiber or ribbon in the holes. ) I dove into my twine collection, and this is what I came up with!

I have entered this in the verve challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers!

Verve Week 2 Challenge

This summer heat has been strong for a week! Although, it is what we have all been waiting for...it has impacted my "craftiness". My studio is on the afternoon sun side, and this small space of mine heats up fast!!!

Enjoying my own company tonight! I put the fan on and opened the sliding door! Now, I am getting crafty! I said I would make a card for my sister to give to her boyfriend's dad for his birthday next weekend!

I decided to use this verve sketch for the week 2 challenge to make the card! I used the banner stamp by Hamptom Arts instead of the circle die. I used the glitter copper 60 thickers instead of the heart. The Happy Birthday stamp is from CC Designs it is an AmyR stamp
Collection.

Tiddly Inks Summer Challenge

I seem to have had a two day lull in my creations of all good things crafty. I took Sunday to recuperate after my father's surprise party. Monday I took some time to do housework and errands with Andrei. We continue to work on completing our backyard!

I have become quite the night owl throughout my summer holidays, and as an escape from my husbands video game playing I decided to participate in the Tiddly Inks Challenge. The objective of the challenge was to create a Summer inspired cards. It is the last push of this theme before all us crafters have to go back to regular routines and rituals of the school year!

This adorable digital image is Annabelle Sweetness! I paired her with this adorable DCWV pattern paper from the sweet stack! I just love that paper collection! I have been hoarding the stack, but it was time to put it to good crafty use! The ribbon is just from my stash! I created the digital sentiment on word! I don't know what it is lately but I have gone all "punny". :-D

I just can't get enough of puns! I am very much enjoying my crafty time!

August Sketch Challenge

Well, I was sitting in my scraproom looking through all the scraps that I have saved as I create my wedding album. It was time to throw some of them out! However, some were just so pretty they needed to be used! So, I decided that I would get crafty tonight and thought I would create another wedding layout!

I saw these pictures, and thought I would scrap them! They are pictures that I will look back and think that Ii will never looked more beautiful than I did at that moment in time! I look at them now....three years later! So, I don't think that it will be any different in the future! From what I heard about age and beauty is that it doesn't get any better the older you get! You just get better coping strategies to look t the mirror and admire the reflection that you see!

This particular layout was inspired my a sketch that Janice posted online at the Canadian Scrap N Swap message board. It is a monthly challenge that my friend Lisa started, and Janice haas continued! You can see that I did have to alter it slightly because of the original size of my photos! But, I think I still stayed true to the sketch!

Four Completed Wedding Layouts

Yesterday, was my three year wedding anniversary! I can't believe we have been married for three years already! In some ways it has gone very fast, burin other ways it just seems like yesterday!

Unfortunately, Andrei had to work night shift so we couldn't celebrate yesterday! We will postpone a romantic evening in he future for our celebration! However, I didn't let the day pass without remembering this very special day! I went over to my Mom's house and I scrapbooks with her! It was a very productive evening! I completed 4 12x12 double layouts.

I continue to love using Alison Davis Sketchbooks! These were highly worth the investment! The pages are so individual but beautiful with the consistent look and colour scheme.

I have not been doing these pages in any chronological order! I have them organized well, and I know where they are going in the scrapbook. But, I chose pictures how I see fit! I find that this works well because I have been concerned about choosing to many of the same sketches. For example, two of these layouts used the same sketch. I like that they aren't in chronological order because I don't have to worry about every page looking exactly the same when they are spread out throughout the album. However, I put all the pages next to each other last night when they were created and really they don't look that similar when you change the papers, titles, and embellishments. Tell me what you think!

Purse box Card Sets

I made these boxes earlier in the year! I just love making these boxes! For those of you that are loyal blog followers, you know that I did the a video series last summer that features these purses.

They make great gift sets! I like having these on hand to give away. It is fun to work with my black and white theme.

Hello Friend Dress form Card

This card is the final card in the set! It is exciting to be creating with my stash, and using items that I haven't used before! This challenge that my friend Lisa has posted at the Canadian Scrap'N' Swap Message board is a lot of fun! It is encouraging me to stay at home out of Michaels and create some great projects with the goodies that I have!! It is an unused stash challenge, so it is particularly encouraging me to use items that have never been used before!

The wired polka Dot Ribbon, Hello Friend Sentiment, and the Elegant Edges die cut are all brand new items that I have used!

For My Friend Graphic 45 Stamp Image

I am having a blast playing in my studio and paper crafting. I am currently trying to complete unfinished projects that are in my room here, so that I can have a tidier-workspace. ;-)

It is a crafty break from Christmas projects. But, a pleasant one because I am working with my uptime favorite Colour combo pink, black and white. This card is going to be part of a 6- card purse set! I will be sure to post the completed project when it is all complete!

Just A Note: Silhouette Friend Card

I had to take a break from paper crafting yesterday because I had very bad carpal tunnel. I think now that I have been feeling better...I have been doing too much fine motor detail with my wrists and arms. So, they were letting me know that it was time to take a break!

However, I needed to get back to paper crafting!! My room and my creative ideas were calling to me! Awhile back when I was at the scrappy store, I saw a stamp that I fell in love with. I had it in my hand. But, all of a sudden I had a brainwave! It occurred to me in my embarrassment that I already owned this stamp! To top it all off, I hadn't even used the stamp yet. However, I then had to find the stamp. It was tucked away safely with my configuration goodies!

I dragged it out and made this darling stamp! I used recollections patterned paper. I used scrap cardstock from my stash, and ribbon from my stash. The die cut tag was precut with the elegant edges cartridge. I like to have some pieces on hand when I am creating. It worked perfectly for the card!

The card sketch is based on a Mojo Monday sketch from June 21, 2010. The just a note stamp is a new stamp that I received in an online order from verve! The set is called joyful blooms.

One Hot Dog

Helping Redley with the heat! I had him drink some water from my watering can! Loved the challenge and put a wet damp towel on his back to cool him down. He doesn't love the towel but wasn't trying to get it off either.

Christmas Card Set # 6

Busy in my room today! I continue to prepare for the craft fair. Here is my next set! This paper is very old from my stash. But these muted colours seem to be back in again! Very fun to be crafting!!!
