Last Layout of Honeymoon Album

Today, shall be marked in history as the day I actually completed a scrapbook Album! :-)

I completed this layout as part of a challenge hosted by Janice at the Canadian Scrap and Swap message board. If you follow trends in Scrapbooking...the big trend at he moment is hexagons. Janice found a sketch that had hexagons in it! I haven't done any scrapbook pages in quite awhile! I knew it was time to do one!! This layout was just the one that I needed!!

The hexagons were cut using my cricut, gypsy, and accent essentials cartridge! The hexagons are sized at 2 inches real dial size. I learned that by doing this layout it was a great way to stretch your patterned paper. I only used 4 sheets of 6x12 paper in my cricut. This allowed me to have lots of hexagons for this layout! The only mistake I had to correct was making sure the writing of the hexagon went the right direction across the hexagon. I had to cut out a second set of hexagons because I goofed that up the first time!!

The circle was also cut with my cricut cartridge. I used the George and Basic Shapes cartridge. An oldy, but a goody! ;-)

The stickers were the last of what I had from all the items that I purchased for the album. I also had just enough thickers for the title. I had to turn an m into a u. But, I bet if I didn't tell you that, you would have never of guessed it either! I do enjoy using thickers, as they add dimension to my pages.

Now, it is time to get inspired and work on my wedding album again! Still not finished and our three year anniversary is in a week!!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge: Wedding Card

My Husband and I got our first invite to a wedding in September. I am very excited as this is our first invite since we were married. We were the last out of our friends to get married. Lots of baby showers, but not weddings. Andrei is usually off the hook for that too! Lol!

I wanted to make a very special wedding card for the bride. She was a friend of my husband's while they were in school. So, when I saw the wedding challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut...this gave me the jump start that I needed to get inspired and get crafty.

This card was made with a recollections card base. It measures 5.5 x 6.5. I used a very pretty SEI 12 x 12 paper pack that I had acquired. So, it was very exciting to dive in and use it as I bought it with the intended purpose to make wedding cards as the colors were so elegant. The best part is that the Bride's wedding invitation was purple, so this color combo matches the bride's!! Added bonus don't you think.

The cake was cut out on my Gypsy and the die cut behind the cake was also sized on my Gypsy. The cake is from the Once Upon a Princess Cartridge, and the die cut was cut out from Elegant Edges. I embossed the die cut with the coordinating Once Upon a Princess Embossing Folder. Ii blinged up the cake with sticklers and coordinating rhinestones from my collection!

I am very pleased with the results!!

Gloria's July 1st Challenge

Gloria posts all these challenges all the time on my favorite message board. This card was inspired by that sketch. I once again have used the Citrus Mat Stack! I just love the bright colors of this stack.

I just love making boxes, so when I discovered this project online...I knew I had to five it a try! It is a my first one, and have some more ideas on how to embellish this for future projects!!

Paris Card : Thankyou

When cleaning up my room...I discovers or was reminded how many different unfinished projects that I have currently on the go! I decided the it was time to get them completed!! So I finished two cards, and boxed them up for the craft fair. I assessed what I needed to make for the craft fair! I have a whole bunch of items cut up for the craft fair to make when I have time! And chose some card designs. But, I also have three purse boxes on the go that I need to make six cards for. In hindsight I should have done three different designs and two repeats, but I took a more challenging route and have decided to make 6 unique designs. Making card sets in bunches is the best way to go, but this is the most crafty way to go!!

Anyways I have three designs now, and I am now currently searching my craft mojo for the next three.

Vintage Rosettes

So, I have been playing in my room the last two evenings while Andrei has been back a work! I tidy my space and then mess it up again! Well, Gloria is hosting a rosette swap, which got me thinking of how I could incorporate the vintage theme with black, white, and pink. So, I decided to take a break from the Christmas theme and play! I came up with these three different designs all using the Tim Holtz Die rosette. I really like how they turned out!!

Redley Goes for a Swim

So we found this pool for free at the end of last summer! We thought it would be great for washing Redley in. Today the weather is very hot, so we thought it might be fun to get it out and give it a try! He was a little unsure but he didn't seem to mind it, as it cooled him down!

My Verve Order Arrived!

So excited!
This was an order I did just before the end of the year! I used my birthday money! This is my very first order from Verve Stamps! I really am impressed with the way they packaged and sent it out! It was wrapped all in very nice tissue and they included a special thank you stamp! I have been waiting for these to arrive for my Chris tad projects, so I am very excited to play when it cools off and my chores are all completed!!!

Gloria's Crop Night

So, I had a very lovely time at my friend Gloria's for her crop night! It was just the two of us for dinner and I got a sneak peak at the Cameo! It sure purrs when it cuts! We plan on getting together in the future for a session completely devoted to the Cameo! I can't wait! I find myself occasionally parusing the sihlouette store for cuts! It sure is tempting, but I will wait and see!!

These cards were made with my yellow kit that I made! It has tons of goodies to play with, and is fantastic to grab and go to a crop when I don't know what I am in the mood to do! I was organizing my cards, and realized that I didn't have very many thank you cards! As you can see below, I now have eight more to add to my collection. The patterned paper is by DCWV, it is the Matt Stack so the patterns are perfectly sized for cards!

For those of you who have been following my use your stash or shop your stash, I recommend you create kits with your stash! This has really encouraged me to use what I have rather than buy something new!

Christmas Card # 5

Well, it is starting to feel like Christmas in July! At least in my scraproom! My husband doesn't seem to understand why I am making Christmas cards so early in the year! But, to be honest I don't understand how he loves to keep playing his video games all the time! So, we each have our niche and what makes us happy in our spare time! I

This particular card was inspired from a card that I found in the most recent paper crafts magazine called card creations! I was determined to find a card in there that I could replicate into a Christmas card! The card was originally a thank you card. The design appealed to me because it is a different size card than what I am used to working with. The finished dimensions are 3.5 inches by 5.5 inches. All the items used for this project came from eclectic Christmas and lace stash.

Christmas Card # 4

Ok...so I am on a little bit if a creative roll at the moment as I begin playing with my extensive Christmas paper stash. This one is a little bit different, as I haven't used traditional Christmas colors! But, I think it turned out quite well! I have had this paper in my stash for a couple of years! But hated to use it because it was double sided! However, dabbling in the world of double sided 6x6 paper pads I have come to enjoy using double sided paper! This sentiment is from CC Designs and can be purchased at All that Scraps. This is an Amy R sentiment set called snowman sayings! The image is also a CC Designs digital image called Dazzle M Nightly. It is part of their Sweet November collection. I won this stamp entering my very first All That Scraps challenge back in January. I have become addicted to their sentiments, dies, and digital images! Buying a digital image is a fabulous way to jump start your creative juices, and the flexibility of being able to resize them for a special project makes them even more fabulous for all my crafty projects!

So, as a result...I am entering this card I to the All That Scraps Design Team Call.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card # 3 2012

I just love little snowman! I found these neat puffy stickers and knew that I just had to use them for some Christmas cards! I have since stamped a sentiment on there! The design is based on a cupcake card class I took a couple of years ago at a Local Scrapbook Store. Simple design but again very effective!

Christmas Card # 2 2012

A little Birdie told me....to wish you a merry Christmas. This was a fun card to make using the create a critter birdie! I just love this Cricut cut using the Create A Critter Cartridge! It is so much fun to create with! This is a relatively simple design. The bird is cut out t 3 inches.

Christmas Card 2012 # 1

This particular card I made with my Christmas cheer cartridge and my Tum Holtz Pinecone die. The greenery was cut with the Tim Holtz die. I do enjoy having an electronic die cutter as well as metal dies! I also used my Studio G Merry Christmas stamp. The snowflake embossing folder makes things so polished looking, and yet it is so very simple!

Preparations for Christmas Cards

So, I am organized and ready...I have done an assessment of my Christmas papers, and as you can clearly see by this photograph I clearly have a lot to work with! Oh my...I knew I had a drawer fill, but this is ridiculous! However it is spread out on my floor so I can see what I have. My intent is to use my stash. I have arranged to be in a craft fair in November! I will be selling my crafts at a local craft fair. I am excited to take this adventure again! My last one was successful, and I hope that my next one will be
too!

I have strategized and I am very happy that I take pictures of everything because this allows me to revisit previous creations.i didn't track what I sold at the last one. But, I plan on doing that at this one! However I do recall some of the designs that sold quicker than others, so I will replicate a few of those designs. I will be posting my creations over the next few months as I prepare for the craft fair!

Summer Vacation Started Immediately

Wow, it has been awhile since my last post! I do recognize that! But, I haven't done much creating since then because I was getting organized for a week away to San Diego. My husband and I were overdue for a holiday, and we agreed San Diego was the place to be! We visited Mission Beach, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, bus trips, and did some shopping It was a very busy time, but we definitely enjoyed ourselves.

The highlight was the time we spent swimming with the Dolphins! That was Truly amazing and an unforgettable experience!

Now that I am home...I have some laundry and tidying up to do in my scraproom, but then I am ready to begin crafting. I have lots of different goals this summer including making Christmas Cards, finishing my honeymoon album, and getting a lot more pages done with my wedding album! I also have some classroom projects that I am looking forward to working on also! Good times!

Happy Summer!
