12 x 12 Easter Layout

In an effort to use up the odds and ends on my desk as I tidied up my scrap space today. I created this layout for future photographs. It is a fairly simple layout, but I like how the colour combo goes together!

Easter Anya Projects

Easter is just around the corner...so when I "discovered" these gable boxes in my stash. I decided that it was about time that I turn them into some sort of project. I always enjoy giving away little easter gifts. So, I thought I would make two of these up. Not even sure who I am going to give them to yet, but I will decide who the special people will be to to give these to when the time comes! This Easter Anya I got free from the Greeting Farm Blog last year. I was checking it faithfully and they had these for their followers. Although I had my Easter projects already completed last year. I knew that this digital image could come in real handy for some Easter cards the following year. Well, again in an effor to shop my stash. I printed some of these images out and coloured them. I used my new rectangular nestabilities to cut out the image for the box. This is so bright, "springy", and even a little girly!

Gift Card Holders

I had some more fun in my studio tonight. It appears I am most crafty and creative in the evening. Not sure why that is...but I had a lot of fun crafting tonight. I had a whole bunch of odds and ends on my desk from finishing off other projects and as well using up the final pieces of the shop my stash kit. I knew that over the Spring Break I wanted to give Gift Card holders a try. So, today was the crafty day to do that. I used my Gypsy to size 3 gift cards on one 12 x 12 mat. These cuts are from the Cindy Loo cricut cartridge. It is a fun cartridge that I should use more often than I do. I took all the scraps from my other projects and embellished these with those. I have put these in the basket that I plan on taking to work to sell. I will see how it goes. I am thinking of selling these for 1.00. or 5 of them for 4.00.

Mother's Day Card Collection

So, I have been having lots of fun in my scraproom over Spring Break. I am playing and trying a whole bunch of things out! I am really enjoying my time in here. So, I thought I would post some of the card creations that I have been working on. I decided to get a head start on some Mother's Day cards. I began with the first two cards that measure 4.75 by 6.75. This is the card size that my friend Gloria uses quite often, a little larger than the A2 size that I am the most familar making. I chose to use the yellow theme that I have been working with for the last little while. The paper is from the five sheets that I purchased at Precious Memories a couple of weeks ago now is almost all used up. I will have a few more cards left that I can make with the scraps, and then it is time to dive into my new 12 x 12 DCWV stack Lemon Grass. The stamp on the first two cards is a Stamping Bella stam called Suzette Bella. I have had her for quite a while, but decided it was time to use here a little more than I have been. I am really enjoying using my copic felt markers to colour her skin tone. It makes all the difference to these imagaes.

The next two cards were actually made with papers from my scrap paper drawer. While looking for inspiration online tonight, I found a very pretty butterfly card from All that Scraps Blog, and you can find that card here. I took the design of that sketch and turned it into my own with the materials that I had in my stash. I always love when I can make a pretty card with scrap paper, and have it not look anything like a scrap paper card.

The final card was aslo made with scrap paper from my stash. This chipboard dressform die was given to me by my friend Gloria. I believe there are four of them in the pack. I simply love how this card turned out. It was so much fun to embellish. I used lace fabric for the top, and ribbon layered from the bottom to the top to make the skirt. The flower is a felt cuttlebug flower made cut out with my cuttlebug.

I know you are now probably thinking why I need so many Mother's Day cards. Yes, I only have one Mother, and one Mother in Law. However, I have been toying with the idea of bringing them to work and having them in a basket in the staffroom and selling cards for a twoonie. Not sure if anyone would be inerested, but I thought it would definitely be worth a try. There are lots of other gals at work who sell different things, and no one things anything of it, so why not try selling card. I will see if I am brave enough to do this.

Spring Break Catch Up

Today was  my official last day work day off from Spring Break. However, I do still have the weekend to enjoy with my husband. As lucky us we both are off together this weekend. But, I did manage to have some fun this week. My sister and I went to Bellevue Washington for a little Spring Break Shopping getaway. We left on Tuesday and returned on Thursday early afternoon.

Wow...I must say that craft stuff is so much cheaper to begin with down there, and then you add the sale prices, and the discounts with coupons you can come home with a lot of great stuff to play with. Here are my goodies that I cam ehome with. I have more nestabilities to add to my collection, thickers, ATG tapes, alcohol inks, cricut cartridge, clear stamps, studio g card and envelop packs and 3 12 x 12 paper packs. Although the Surfs Up one I am splitting with my friend Lisa. I am so excited to dive into the Lemon Grass paper pack. It has some beautiful yellow papers in there that I can't waith to give a try! Should be a lot of fun to play with! Can't wait to start.

Yesterday, I spent the day getting my new goodies put away in my studio. I spent the day catching up with Andrei and enjoying some good ole television watching. I don't get much done in my scrap space when I sit in front of the TV. I also caught up with the musings on the message board, and got some ideas going in my head for projects.

Today was a great day to do some errands. I cleaned up around the house, and took all the items that I no longer wanted like clothes and house hold goods and brought them to Value Village. It felt so good to get those items out of the house! I picked up my favourite bird nest cookies and had a visit with a friend of mine who I haven't seen in quite awhile. We had some a good ole fashion cup of tea, along with some yummy cookies and cupcakes. It was good to catch up. She gave me a whole bunch of tips for the epicure stuff that I bought from a party back in January. So, now I am going to get a move on and begin using these spices.

After she left, Redley and I decided to go for a car ride to the new doggie park near us. We had a good run around, and a little walk. I forgot to bring water with me. With this beautiful sunny weather , it is time I leave the house on these adventures a little  more prepared with water.

I am not sure what direction the weekend will take me. However, I sure hope that some of it involves some crafty time. I still have a new cartridge that I am just itching to use.

Gloria's March Mid Month Card Challenge

Gloria always finds such great sketches to create projects with! I knew I wanted to stick with the yellow theme of the projects that I have been working on. They are so bright and cheerful! They look so great on display in my scraproom right now. This is a larger size that I am not used to playing with. This is a 4..75 by 6.75 card. It fits perfectly some yellow envelopes that I have in my stash. So, I am going to make up a set of four cards with a different theme to them This is a thank-you card. Although you might not be able to see the sentiment on the side of the cut image. I stamped some of these Bella images on Saturday night when I was at Gloria's. Surprisingly enough. She has some images that I don't have. So, I thought this was a great once to use. I just love the yellow!

3 x 3 Butterfly Cards

Wow..these sure took a long time to upload tonight! Few...almost gave up. But, I just couldn't resist uploading these adorable and bright 3 x 3 cards. I used my sizzix butterfly die. I am having a lot of fun with this die. It is great to use on those small stacks. These cards were made completely with scraps! I love that I am able to stretch my paper stacks that much farther. I made four of the first one, but only made one of the second!

12 x 12 Scrapbook Layout

Hmmm....I wonder what I have been up to on my Spring Break! I have been spending lots of time in my favourite space! My scraproom! Isn't it fun to do whatever you want on you holidays! I will continue to enjoy the free time that I have, as you never know when something unexpected comes up! If you have been following my blog or youtube channel in the last little while. You will notice that I have been working on layouts that I don't have any pictures for. I know this probably seems really unusual but it is giving my an opportunity to play in colour groups, patterns or themes that I wouldn't normally do. Since the only two albums that I have to work on are my Honeymoon Album and my wedding album! This layout uses bright colours! I just love them. The 12 x 12 Layout is an Alison Davis Sketch. She has great sketches for page designs! I chose this particular sketch because my friend Lisa challenged me to use her Stampin Up Banner pumch that I had borrowed from her. I hadn't used it yet for any projects, and during our Iphone crop she encouraged me to use it. So, this is the layout I designed. The patterned maper is from My Minds Eye. It was a pack that I found at Homesense for 3.99. I have tons of paper, and die cuts left from this small kit. So, I think I might make another layout with it!

All That Scraps Anything Goes Challenge

I am having way to much fun with patterned paper these days! This particular card was made specifically for the All that Scraps Anything Goes Challenge.

This pretty paper collection I purchased a couple of weekends ago with the specific purpose to make cards!  I bought 5 sheets of a coordinating line, and have been having so much fun trying to maximize its use with the cards. I feel like I am really being successful with this! To date...I have currently made 9 cards out of this patterned paper collection.

I had a lot of fun making this card!I am really happy with the coloured image. I love the green in this card. I haven't put a sentiment on there yet because I wanted to make this a card that could be used for multiple purposes!

Thanks for stopping by!

Tiddly Inks Challenge: Best Friend Forever

Well, I am always looking for challenges to get me inspired! My friend Lisa has introduced me to Tiddly Inks Digital Stamps and their challenges. I just couldn't wait to play with them. This particular card was made for the Best Friends Forever Challenge.  So, I began the difficul task of chosing the perfect stamp. I fell in love with this Gonna Miss You Stamp. I just think she is so endearing! The patterned paper is by DCWV and is from the Citrus Mat Stack! This is the perfect size for making cards! I just love the bright yellow right now! Such a bright and cheer colour wich is perfect for Spring! The stamp on the first card is being entered for the challenge.

Dressform Swap 2012

Rachel

Tammy N

Lisa G

Lisa K

Gloria

Rhonda

I am always up to something! This project was no exception. I have been drooling over the dressforms since I first discovered them this past August. I have watched every you tube video that has the tag dressform with it, and just love the dimension and creative that everyone puts into their dressforms. Therefore, I decided to host a dressform swap. There were six participants that number includes myself. The tag had to measure 3 inches by 5 inches and needed to include a dresform. Well, this is what everyone came up with! Aren't they just amazing! So Girly and so fun! I had a lot of fun hosting this swap, and can't wait to use these projects on some upcoming projects!

March Sketch Support Challenge

So, if any of you look at the time I do my posts...you may see that this was a very late post on Friday night, or a very early post on Saturday morning. However, my husband wanted me to watch this movie Drive. It was a good movie, but there were some disturbing parts in the movie. I had that icky feeling at the end, so I chose to come back into my room to finish up this layout that I started earlyer in the evening.

My friend Lisa over at the Canadian ScrapNSwap hosts a monthly challenge using a sketch from Alison Davis Blog Sketch Support. This particular sketch that she chose for the month of March is sketch # 8 and you can find it here. She has card sketches, single page sketches, and all sorts of posts by various design team members.

Well, this Month Lisa encouraged us to use a store bought die cut for the back of the page. I had recently bought an Easter Paper pack at Homesense. So, I knew that this was just the pack to give this layout a try. I am really pleased with how it turned out. I am having fun creating layouts despite the fact I don't have pictures for the layout. These will be used in the future, but they allow me to play with colour tones and papers, that I don't always get a chance to play with!

Thanks for stopping by!

Use Your Stash 12 x 12 Double Page Layout

I am having so much fun shopping with my stash. Here is the 12x12 double page layout that I completed. This uses some Die Cuts with A View Sweet Stack Patterned paper, and matching chipboard pieces. I also had some fun making some journaling spots. I printed out the template, and then used my own stamps to create the designs!

Show Me Your Space Challenge

Tracy over at the Canadian Scrap and Swap Message Board. Her challenge is to have members share the space that they work in! So, here is the Grade Four classroom that I work in! It is a brand new space this year. It is slowly becoming the space that I envision, but it has taken some time since I moved into the space at the beginning of the year. The shelves on the back of the wall came 2.5 months after school started! All that stuff sat on the floe until then! But, it is starting to feel cozy!
